A loaf of white bread in Aldi is 50p. A tin of baked beans or spaghetti hoops is 27p. Breakfast for a kid for a week.

@The_balding_dad @AndyBurnhamGM Yes we signed up and knew the wages, but we didn't expect prices to skyrocket thus imposing an unmanageable pay cut. If prices weren't at the rate they are currently, there would be far less action being taken. Should have increased pay when they had the chance. No sympathy.

People criticising the wage asks of public sector workers: You need to remember they’ve had years of real-terms pay cuts going into this. That’s why their situation is so dire. If you clapped them two years ago, support them now. It’s more important.
