I've just spent great 90 minutes chatting to Stratton Mills, age 93, last surviving MP elected at 1959 election (for Nth Belfast). Mills was initially an Ulster Unionist, helped Heath leadership campaign in 1965, & then switched to Conservative 1972-73 & Alliance Party 1973-74.

I’d like to congratulate @RyderCupEurope on their victory. Your team play the first few days was sensational. More importantly, I’d like to apologize for the rude and mean-spirited behavior from our American crowd at Bethpage. As a former player, Captain and as an American, I am ashamed of what happened. #RyderCup

On This Day 1982 One of the most corrupt games in the history of football Brilliantly summed up by ITV commentator Hugh Johns. W Germany beat Austria 1-0, with a goal after 11 mins, that result would mean both teams qualified at the expense of Algeria. So both teams walked about!

It might not be on the scale of Nov 1985 and Oct 2019 which stand in infamy as WM betrayals of unionism but today sees a strengthening of our NI/GB links arguably for the first time in the history of NI. To be welcomed as a first step, that is if you can put Ulster before Brexit.

Apologies, I got side-tracked by Trump/Starmer. No. Not happy. Let me try to explain why. As you say, your video, and discussion with Fraser, primarily addresses what you perceive to be a failure of community cohesion. And you highlight a number of factors. An obsession by woke liberals with enforcing “diversity”, and doing so in a dishonesty way. An inability of migrant communities to effectively integrate. Not learning the language. Ghettoisation. Unwillingness or inability to understand and embrace indigenous culture. I believe you make some valid points. And I’ve said so to you personally in the past. But you ignore another major obstacle to community cohesion. Which is racism. And that brings us to Rishi Sunak. Sunak is not someone who embraced woke liberalism, and sort to ride the “diversity train”. He is a Conservative who was born in Southampton. Not only did he “learn our language” but went to Winchester (where he became Head Boy), Oxford and Stamford. Instead of becoming ghettoised, he secured election in a conservative, North-Yorkshire rural constituency. He fully embraced British culture in terms of his pursuits, hobbies, forms of dress etc. He lives in a Grade II listed 18th country manor house, that flies the Union Flag outside. He is a practicing Hindu, but he and his family regularly attended Easter services at the nearby St Lawrence Church. So when you choose to laughingly say he can’t be English because he’s, quote, “a Brown Hindu” you do a number of things. You embolden and legitimise racists. You yourself directly undermine community cohesion. And you send the message to every migrant who comes to this country, and plays by rules that you have yourself defined “it doesn’t matter what we do or say. At the end of the day someone will still turn round and say “sorry, but you’re not one of us””. And this week that person has been you. So if you want to peddle pseudo-geneticism in pursuit of some narrow, purist definition of Englishness, fine. But please, don’t be surprised when you experience pushback. And perhaps try and reflect on what the practical impact of your words are on people who do wish to self-define as English, even though you may not.
Konstantin Kisin@KonstantinKisin

@DPJHodges Community cohesion is not improved by lying to people. That is the final line of the video you are replying to. What don't you understand about that? Rishi Sunak is British but not ethnically English. There is no improvement in community cohesion by pretending otherwise. Happy?

I try to be pragmatic. But there's not really any other way of putting it. Trump's just a disgusting individual. A shallow, petty, egotistical, man-child. The US should be ashamed he's their leader. And those British politicians who suck up to him should be ashamed too.
