Some weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending to one handsome man like that. When he walked in, a knot was formed in my throat and I temporarily found it difficult to speak. Our eyes locked for few seconds which seemed like eternity. At the end, I found the courage to talk. Good morning sir, I said. To which he responded. I asked him for his complaints; I came for check up, he said and continued. I had surgery some months back and after being discharged from the hospital decided to relocate to the village. At that point, he opened his stomach and what I saw was shocking. A colostomy bag was just hanging by one side of the abdomen. On further inquiries, I found out that he had colorectal CA and went through bowel resection. Immediately, I felt sorry for myself because few minutes ago, I was already falling in love with the handsome man and now I am here wondering how life could be so cruel. Did his check up , changed his bag and sent him home and blessed God for my health. Aura, MD.
