We are going to see an accelerating tide of these admissions and conversions as the coming weeks and months pass. And the job of those of us who have opposed Trump for years is to resist saying "I told you so," or "you knew better," or "who needs you," but rather to say "thank you for seeing the light," and to ask people who previously supported Trump to help us stand up now for the impeachment and removal of that terrible man so that we rid ourselves of him sooner, rather than later. The survival of our nation as a constitutional republic depends in no small part on such grace.

As yet another preemptive war is begun in the Middle East, John Quincy Adam’s words of wisdom still ring true: “Wherever the standard of freedom and Independence has been or shall be unfurled, there will her heart, her benedictions and her prayers be.” Like most Americans I have sympathy for the plight of the Iranian people and all subjected people around the globe, from North Korea to Tibet. But as Adam’s wrote, America:  “goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.” The Constitution conferred the power to declare or initiate war to Congress for a reason, to make war less likely.   Madison wrote that “the Executive Branch is the branch most prone to war, therefore, the Constitution, with studied care, delegated the war power to the legislature.” As with all war, my first and purest instinct is wish Americans soldiers safety and success in their mission.   But my oath of office is to the Constitution, so with studied care, I must oppose another Presidential war.

@lyndseyfifield Recommend finding a local appliance dealer (no big box) in your area. Get to know the sales people. As your appliances expire, get whatever your rep tells you to get. I started doing that 15 years ago (after a spate of appliance turn over in new build) All going strong.

Our deep freezer full of meat and food just went out. We bought it in 2021. I have friends coming to take whatever they can before it is all wasted. Called the 1800 number and a barely-understandable representative very politely told me we are out of warranty and there are no technicians who can fix it. My parents had the same deep freezer for 40 years. In the last 5 years we’ve replaced our <5 year old washing machine, two vacuums, garbage disposal… Our dishwasher probably needs replacing soon. I’m just so tired of this. I WANT to “buy once cry once” as I was raised—to invest in well made things built to last. Where the actual hell are they?

@markcecchini Yes, I think I’m in college and that I forgot about a class that I enrolled in the whole semester and I’ve been attending all of the others but skipped the one I forgot about for whatever period of time I am into the semester. Lol wtf

anyone else have this recurring dream: you realize you are 2-3 months into a really important college course....and you straight up haven’t been to class ONE time, done any assignments, or taken any exams and that F is about to tank your GPA for the semester

@rexrodelisa8 Texas was wrong. We didn’t push them to do this - we are a bipartisan group of Virginians. California was also wrong. We don’t want those states’ toxic politics in Virginia.

Governor Spanberger once said gerrymandering "weakens the individual voices that form our electorate." She was right. Rigged maps hurt all of us - no matter who's in charge. Keep our maps honest. Vote NO on April 21st.

Pretty soon I’ll have four kids and only one bedroom to put them in. Can’t move. We are planning on getting bunk beds. Is this even feasible? I feel so bad about cramming them all into one room.

@LostAmericanDRM In our case, our house has plenty of rooms, but also plenty of people. My mother, mil, uncle, and my husband and I plus kids in one house. Uncle in basement. We like our house and it would be hard to find one with even more bedrooms that’s affordable.
