Today, I met with the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) to reaffirm Canada’s support for Ukraine amid Russia’s attacks on energy infrastructure. So far this year, Canada has announced an additional $20M to support Ukraine’s energy infrastructure needs. We must also recognize Russia’s attempt to erase Ukraine’s identity and culture, as earlier today Russia carried out strikes on Lviv, targeting UNESCO World Heritage sites. These are clear violations of international law and those responsible must be held accountable. Little Zgenia had to have stitches on his head and is currently in intensive care with a concussion. His grandmother was also injured, and their apartment sustained significant damage.
