Plenty of waders on the move on the Alaw estuary this morning with 2 Green Sandpipers. 12 Greenshank. 17 Redshank. 13 Common Sandpiper. 1 Dunlin and a Whimbrel. A Hooded Crow also present.

The first 2 Dunlin returned to the Alaw estuary this morning plus 9 Greenshank. 2 Redshank. 4 Common Sandpiper. 5 Bar-tailed Godwit. 121 Oystercatcher and 45 Curlew.

@davedavies56 Hi Dave, there is no best place for sea-watching at South Stack, you can sea-watch from anywhere along the coast. I often watch from the steps down to the lighthouse early in the morning before people start walking up and down.

764 Manx Shearwater. 51 Gannet. 3 Fulmar. 9 Kittiwake. 9 Puffin. 6 Sandwich Tern and 13 Black-headed Gulls all moving north during a 2hr sea-watch off The Range, South Stack this morning.

A damp start to the day at Cors Ddyga but once the drizzle lifted a few birds began to show including Great White Egret, Red Kite, Little Ringed Plover and Marsh Harriers inc 2 newly fledged young birds.

Alaw estuary this afternoon, Greenshank 6. Barwit 2. Lapwing 1 (the first return). Oystercatcher 225. Curlew 35. Med Gull 2 adults ( first returns). Also here a Hooded Crow.

A good day for butterflies yesterday as I walked out of Holyhead at Soldiers Point along the rocky coast into the Breakwater CP. Painted Lady (my 1st of year). Speckled Wood. Common Blue. Small White. Orange-tip and Red Admiral.
