it told us Merlin no longer cared for destiny as much as he did Arthur. He could’ve fulfilled his destiny to bring magic back into Camelot but instead chose his king which was the exact thing that got him killed. truly a tragic episode 💔

i gotta say tho that episode does a beautiful job of showing how Merlin’s devotion to Arthur had surpassed his morals. it was a perfect parallel to Merlin saving Mordred despite being told he’d kill Arthur to now doing the exact opposite

I'm so used to brushing off short Arthur as headcanons so seeing him standing next his knights and getting absolutely height mogged is so funny. I don't associate Leon with being especially tall which works even better to make Arthur look shorter in this scene specifically😭
