This caused Norway the match. Sorloth not passing the ball to Haaland when Haaland had a clear shot. Sorloth made zero goals in the world cup and wanted to play hero ball. This is a good example of how everyone suffers when one places his own interest first vs the team.

Sorloth had multiple opportunities to get a pass off to Haaland. He had the defender’s, Stone, forward motion and stance working in his favor. He decided to hold on to the ball. Slow it and up and try to get off a shot with his left foot. It doesn’t matter if he is left footed, at this level he can make a pass with his right foot and the opportunities were there. He CHOSE to not make the pass.
