Utterly devastating news that five-year-old Sharon Granites has been found dead. The nation has been praying and hoping for the best, but the worst has come to pass – a tragedy that should never have befallen this little girl or any child. Ever so sadly, the photos of her – with that warm smile – will be a heartbreaking reminder of the beautiful, young life lost. In time, answers will be provided, and we trust that justice will be done. But for now, our nation grieves for this poor little girl and her family. The Coalition also extends its condolences to Senator Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, who is part of little Sharon’s extended family. In our sorrow, mums and dads across Australia will no doubt hold their own children closer tonight. I thank the Northern Territory Police and emergency services for their search efforts. May the grief felt in Alice Springs reinforce the solidarity that is needed in these dark moments.

I want your car filled up. The nation fuelled up. Our future powered up. Today at Ampol’s Lytton refinery, we’re announcing we will remove the roadblocks that stand in the way of new refining capacity in this country. We will immediately designate Taroom as a National Strategic Priority Project so we can secure more fuel for Australians.

Australia and the United States are connected by history, by our values, and by our common endeavour to cherish and champion Western civilisation.

The face of the ambassador may change, but the role remains the same: to uphold the spirit of a century-old alliance, to advance our mutual economic interests, and to develop our collective military strength – especially through AUKUS – to deter those who neither value liberty nor respect sovereignty.

Like so many countries, Australia requires gas and oil to function. That’s not going to change anytime soon. But Chris Bowen and Labor disregard the facts. Instead, they indulge in an ideological green fantasy. Nowhere in the world can an economy function on part-time renewable energy and batteries alone. Especially a country the size of Australia. Today, Labor’s talking about building a new oil refinery. It’s all talk. What’s going to supply the refinery when Labor refuses to dig and drill? We need a government that puts energy security and economic security before green ideology.

Labor is taking us towards one trillion dollars of debt. 20 years ago, the Coalition Government had paid it off. We can fix the problem and restore our standard of living. The Coalition has done it before.

Australia has everything it needs beneath our feet to power our homes, fuel our cars and create more jobs. We need to get Australia moving. Cut the delays. Back investment. Unlock more oil and gas projects. That’s why a Coalition government will DIG, DRILL, and DELIVER 🇦🇺

Remember what's possible. On 21 April 2006, a Coalition government proved that discipline, honesty and determination could eliminate debt and set a nation free. Twenty years later, we face a different number. One that is growing and getting worse. But the principle is unchanged. Good government can rebuild what has been lost.

Fuel security starts with getting more Australian oil and gas out of the ground. We need to dig and drill. At a time of crisis, the last thing Australia needs is a tax that will stop more coming out of the ground.

Australians should benefit from what's beneath our feet. The resources powering our homes, fuelling our cars, creating jobs, and securing our future. It's the envy of the world. But under Labor? Tax it. Tie it in red tape. Make projects wait eight years for a decision. The result: jobs gone, industries stalling, and critical energy projects stuck in limbo while your power and fuel bills keep climbing. If we're not drilling, we're not prepared for moments like this, when global supply tightens, Australians pay the price. Today the Coalition has laid out the plan to get Australia moving again - more resources, more exports, more jobs, more homes. ✅ Fix broken environmental approvals ✅ Fast-track nationally significant projects like oil and gas ✅ Boost incentives for early-stage exploration ✅ Scrap Labor's carbon tax (aka the Safeguard Mechanism) Dig, drill, and pay down the debt bill. 🇦🇺

Australia didn’t become the greatest country in the world by accident. It was built on strong values, strong institutions and strong people. But those standards are slipping and Labor is letting it happen. We’ll lift them again, protect our way of life and get Australia back to where we belong.

Growing up on the edge of the Snowy Mountains in the 70s: footy in the dust, riding horses on the farm, and four boys keeping each other honest. It was a simpler time, but a way of life worth protecting. Every Australian kid deserves the chance to grow up with a bit of that same freedom and possibility.

Labor has abandoned Australians in regional communities. So today the Coalition is committing $200 million to deliver healthcare built to last. This will complete the Albury-Wodonga Hospital upgrade and establish the first Medicare Mental Health Centre in the region. Our plan is simple. Fix the gaps, build for the future and deliver better care.

Response to statement from Paul Keating: I always suspected that Paul Keating didn’t support Australian values, but now he has dropped any pretence. To suggest it is “racist” to put Australian values at the centre of our immigration policy shows just how out of touch he is with Australians, as is the Labor Party. This is the immigration policy we have to have. Immigration numbers are too high. Immigration standards are too low. And both must change. It’s time for Paul Keating and the Labor Party to put Australians and Australian values first.

If you want to call Australia home, you should speak its national language. We will make learning English an obligation for permanent visa holders - not an option.

🚨 DID YOU KNOW 🚨 Labor has allowed nearly 50,000 non-citizens access to their first home buyer 5% deposit scheme. This is unacceptable. Under the Coalition, taxpayer-funded support for housing will be available for Australian citizens only.

Australians should come first. The 5 per cent deposit scheme should be for Australian citizens, not for non-citizens.

I believe Australia is worth fighting for. Our migration system should reflect our values, serve our national interest and strengthen our communities. That’s why we’re putting Australian values back at the heart of immigration policy.
