Two brothers are risking their lives to protect a cat shelter in northern Gaza City | @AnimalFriendsAF Tamer Skaik, 37, and 36-year-old Samer Skaik have refused to abandon their cats and move south following a warning from Israel to evacuate the area late last week. "[I want to make a] pledge in front of the whole world to stay with our cats and to continue taking care of them, and either we all live or our fate is death," the brothers told 10 News First. Our families and our rescued cats are being crushed under unbearable circumstances. With the return of bombardment, the continued closure of crossings, and the severe restrictions on aid and goods entering Gaza, daily life has turned into a constant struggle for survival. Tonight, we searched everywhere for one of the rescued kittens after she suddenly disappeared during the chaos and noise outside. 💔🐾 For hours, we called softly, checked every corner, and feared the worst.
