New from the Adult Swim workshop: Robot Chicken Special celebrating Adult Swim's 25th year coming 8/30 and Cartoon Network special in 2027, and Heist Brothers series from Genndy Tartakovsky has been greenlit.

The series was first pitched by Genndy to Adult Swim execs live on stage at Annecy in 2024, was announced as being in development last year, and is now in full production!

New details on ‘DC SUPER POWERS’ were revealed at Annecy Animation Festival. • Draws inspiration from 80s toy line of the same name. • Justice League Academy is the setting where kids go to become licensed heroes. • Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, Black Canary, Mister Terrific, and many others appear as adults who likely teachers at the academy. • Described as a “superpowered breakfast club.” • Black Lightning, The Flash (Jesse Chambers), Plastic Man, Terra, Aquagirl, and Green Lantern (Guy Gardner) will appear as students. • Guy Gardner’s hairstyle changed to a bowl cut after the creative team saw James Gunn was embracing the “ugly” look in the Superman trailer. • Guy Gardner says “bowl cut” instead of cheese when taking pictures with fans. • Students start off with baseline powers but receive permanent power upgrades from the academy’s network when they perform well. • Lightning receives “Lightning blast” in the pilot episode and Plastic Man receives “hardening” after completing an act of heroism. • “The Giant Monster Workshop” helps them prepare against fights against giant monsters and “Bystander Protect” has a tiny robot called Bystander which teaches them how to rescue civilians.
