the correct answer is MGSD. so intensely removed from why SDs are awesome, and is taking up limited MG slots per year with 50 dollar funko pops of kits that already have incredible MGs. most consumerist slop this brand has ever been

@skramzbunny @GODFazool It also has alot of detail unlike sd’s that need alot of work. One of my friends only builds higher grades because of that and another prefers it cuz already a big time sink to also add details

@skramzbunny @GODFazool I’m not discrediting it I’m just saying it isn’t fact. Alot of people enjoy it and I’m sure with reason. It’s also really fun to make in comparison, MGSD’s are made to be easily built.

@skramzbunny @GODFazool If anything too many lines is the main problem, we got Mazinger, Pokémon, Macross, 30 min missions, 30 min sisters, 30 min fantasy and most importantly MG are loosing to real grades as of late in sales if I recall correctly

@Unknownx974 Gunpla came in july of 1980 dude again it wasn’t a gamble. Gunpla are cheap to produce and sold very well. By then Gundam was not only saved but cemented as soon as the trilogy aired. Zeta was the fruits but not what saved gundam.

@Animemaster51 Much later? It came only 2 years after 1st airing in 1981, just when Bandai purchased the rights of production. They were basically betting in gunpla hoping the movies would push those numbers, and it did

@GODFazool there is nothing even remotely cute about the thing on the right. it is barely even “super deformed” just “regular deformed” it’s even mostly compatible with the hg zeus silhouette because it’s so close to being just a 1/144 kit that it loses all style.
