love it. let me give a coach's perspective. good goal, but opposition made it easy for him. you should be doing work on his biomechanics and technique because the slowmo reveals a lot of stiffness and awkwardness to his movement. from what i see right now on a pure movement basis, he will not make it. the chop at 0:17 isn't well controlled but the defender's awful body shape makes it easier to get past him. your son then scrambles in a 60-40 as a result of the bad chop at 0:22. once that's done, he's got all the space in the world and it's clear he's practiced this exact situation. but notice, he takes so long to shuffle his feet that the second defender almost manages to get back and block the shot. five steps before he plants. that needs to be reduced. once he gets the shot away, the goalkeeper looks like he's positioned for a race to the toilet at half-time while also being the size of a squirrel. a bigger, better keeper catches this with ease. not to mention what others have mentioned: his teammate is in a better position and wide open on multiple occasions. being able to see the pass and make the decision would show game intelligence that would redeem what is currently just one half-decent weak-footed hit. after winning the tackle against the second defender, he should be slipping in his teammate. the counter-argument is that his teammate doesn't look like he wants the ball. at that point, maybe shooting makes sense after all.
