This used to be one of my fav show but now it doesnt hit same anymore, crazy how an actor’s real-life personality can make or break ppl's attachment to the fictional characters they play, a character loses their charm once you find out the actor is a horrible person in real life.

I’ve been begging for this book to be filmed but I will not be watching it. One of the biggest strains Amari faces within her family is that she’s the darkest. Her mum actively shames her for it too. Her brother is much lighter. Therefore the casting doesn’t make sense.

@galeblades1 I mean we know damn well Bryke and co. suck at writing romance that's a given, but she literally was introduced (when seen with Zuko) to counter Zutara growing popularity against Kat**ng (which is more sad and loser behavior than anything else tbh, which yeah, sum up Bryke well)

This is my go to example of why its important to see the perspectives outside of fandoms, because you know something is wrong with how this pairing was handled when it is panned nearly everywhere outside of avatar circles

the bridgerton showrunner really said a female character's miscarriage (a very common and underrepresented female experience) would have been "too morbid" and then made said character go through some dehumanising pregnancy examination days after she lost her husband

no shade but various benedict moments in s4 felt veeery anthony coded to me. lowkey shoehorning him into a head of the family role, that doesn't really fit his character imho. at the same time they've kinda dropped the ball when it comes to his identity as an artist

the way they have taken a beautiful story about francesca's yearning to be a mother and twisted it into her feeling inadequate to make JOHN'S wish for a child come true... no words. that show never deserved a book as good as when he was wicked in the first place.
