20 years ago today, my gentle, kind dad left us. When I got back to work after his funeral, I had a letter from my CEO; the first para was condolences and the rest of it was about ED performance as I was the clinical director. Looking back, it was pretty brutal wasn't it?

I screen lots of new osteoporosis patients for #coeliac disease. Occasionally the results come back positive - sometimes after years of GI symptoms!

I remember getting 3 days and being told that ‘we will all lose people and it’s part of life’ when I phoned into work after burying my mum to say that I didn’t feel emotionally well enough to be at work, working with frail elderly patients at the time.

@BrianwDolan Good grief. How awful. I remember from those days only getting two or three days bereavement leave on loss of parent. I used to tell my staff to ask the GP to sign them off. Critical work needs full concentration

Patients everywhere experiencing difficulties accessing GP services and sitting on multiple waiting lists for follow up services.
