I just told someone that some people are so poor, they can't afford to get jobs. He laughed. But I wasn't kidding. Gas money, child care expenses, and lack of clothing to meet dress code requirements are often barriers to employment for low income individuals. Now you know.

@Camilla_33 I don't think I know a single disability organization that still masks. From what I've seen, most gave up on it after the vaccines came out. Photos from conferences and ADA events and the White House are almost always maskless. I'm here to find some to follow, though.

@jjabbott I'm married to an alum and have tailgated many times at Penn State. This doesn't surprise me. Most PSU fans I know who tailgate are from the more rural counties who travel to the game. And the few Harris supporting PSU fans I know don't want politics mixed with their football.

@jjabbott As a woman, I'd like to say that I have serious concerns whenever a man puts the word "rights" in quotation marks when referring to reproductive rights. It tells me he doesn't think they're rights at all, and that's... not a good sign.

I expected they'd charge me for the extra scan on my right breast for my lump. I didn't expect to get a bill for $1200 for the full mammogram bc it wasn't coded as preventative. After spending hours on the phone, my bill is "under review." This is #HealthCareInAmerica. 2/2

Earlier this month, I went for a diagnostic mammogram for a lump in my right breast. My mom had breast cancer 2 years ago, so I'm at risk. The tech told me that since I was so close to when my next mammogram was due, they were going to scan both breasts for my annual. 1/

Make no mistake - the CDC decision to change Covid isolation from 5 days to 1 day is an economic & political one. It’s NOT about health and it will kill & disable people. It’s to push people back to work & drive the narrative that Covid is only a risk to the “vulnerable” /1 🧵

Is this a @WellSpan policy? Is it necessary for receptionists to greet every masked patient with a loud proclamation that they can remove their masks? It feels ableist & intrusive, and it's actively discouraging people from doing the right thing. 5/x #KeepMasksInHealthcare

I thought #masksoptional meant I could still wear one to stay safe. I didn't expect to be confronted by medical staff. I shouldn't have to announce to a waiting room that I'm high risk. I shouldn't have to explain my reason for masking in a doctor's office. 4/
