@anon_opin When I was pregnant in 1978 and went right off alcohol my doctor suggested gin and tonic as most palatable for pregnant women
English

@LucyGoBag @StaceySolomon Yes, my daughter and I found ourselves unable to throw anything away when my other daughter, her sister, was diagnosed and slowly died of MS. It was so helpful to learn the link between loss and hoarding. We're coming through. I'd still love @StaceySolomon to live next door.
English

If you are struggling with hoarding and cluttering after illness, bereavement, baby loss and many other things I do think the gentle advice in Sort Your Life Out is worth spending some time with. Thank you @StaceySolomon and the team
English

@ovaleasteregg I once overheard a woman, really pissed off, complaining that they could only afford to go to some shitty place for this year's winter skiing holiday instead of their usual fab one. I've never been sad to be poor since that day as I'm almost always more content than her
English

@LissaKEvans 5 Chimerism: A rare condition where two fertilized eggs fuse, resulting in a single individual with two different sets of DNA, which can create a mix of male and female tissues.
English

@AnnaM46 Do you mean DSDs - differences in sexual development? An individual who has a DSD is still either male or female. 'Gender' is a non-scientific word that can mean almost anything and I'd rather avoid using it.
English

When you apply to the girl guides now the first question you will be asked is: do you comply with standard gender norms, expressions and expectations, and if you say no? Or even you’re not sure? You’re out.
Just let kids be who they are for goodness sake. Love them regardless. This is petty and cruel.
English

@LissaKEvans 4, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH): An XX individual (typically female) may be exposed to high levels of male hormones in the womb, resulting in ambiguous genitalia.
English

@LissaKEvans 3 Androgen Insensitivity: An individual with XY chromosomes (typically male) may have a body that does not respond to male hormones, resulting in a female phenotype.
English

@LissaKEvans 2 Chromosomal Mixes: Instead of just XX (female) or XY (male), individuals can have variations like XXY (Klinefelter syndrome), X (Turner syndrome), or mosaics, where some cells are XX and others are XY.
English

@LissaKEvans 1. Biological and Physical Variations (Intersex)
Biologically, sex is a bimodal spectrum rather than a strict binary. About 1.7% of people are born with intersex traits, meaning their chromosomes, hormones, or anatomy do not fit typical male/female definitions.
English

@LissaKEvans @Heccles94 Lissa, can I ask do you dismiss all the scientific evidence for a small minority of people who have a mixture of gender markers, so are neither M or F, or do you just not care about them? I want to understand where you're coming from on this because I really don't get it
English

@Heccles94 Rubbish. This is just wilful stupidity and will chime only with the wilfully stupid.
Girls - all girls - yes, Harry, even those who wear trousers and have short hair (*faints at the idea*) - are welcome in the girl guides. Full stop.
English

@edgaralandough check out whether it interacts with medicines you take - it took two years to work out that shocking dizzy spells were caused by turmeric and one of my medications. Sorry I can't remember which
English

@anon_opin Yes, I cannot bear to have the word rape sitting on my counter as if it's just an everyday thing. Though clearly it is but I still won't buy it
English

@HannahIamthest1 I go the other way. I say how sorry I am that they have to do this shit job and hope they find something better really soon. They put the phone down
English

I love scam phone calls.
I pretend I’m an old Yorkshire lad, desperate to pay them.
My record’s an hour.
I kept putting them on hold to “check my wallet,” yelling at my cat, and asking if they could speak up because my hearing aid was acting up.
Then I spent 30 minutes reading my card details wrong… real slow.
At one point, I told them my kitchen was on fire
Great fun 😆
English

@seasidedolly2 @sixfootcandy Me too. I wouldn't care but I have some beautiful dresses I want to wear again
English

@anon_opin Are you saying 'the lowest common denominator' aka people not as clever as you, should not have programmes they can understand and enjoy? Some people do have lower cognitive capacities but they're not just rubbish to be swept away. You're not forced to watch it.
English

@laurast51362949 @EdwardJDavey It seems obvious that men accused of serious violent crimes should absolutely not be allowed to suddenly declare themselves trans women. I'm astonished that any have been allowed to do so.
English

Question for over 70 year olds: can you remember your home phone number from when you were a kid?
Prof. Frank McDonough@FXMC1957
3 March 1847. Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. He's credited with creating the first practical commercial telephone system, though he did not, as is often assumed, invent the telephone.
