MCM getting a bit of play for this, but these are lines you could hear from almost any under-40 year old in a big city in Australia. Greens are tapping a deep vein of anger at a broken system
Max Chandler-Mather@MChandlerMather

After about an hour of listening to the head of the property industry argue for more of the same when it comes to tackling the housing crisis, I couldn’t help but let my frustration boil over. I know many of us - the millions of Australians who rent - are feeling this same way.

@_rushforth_ It's good news for the poor animals kept in those small pools all their lives.... If not for these ones (what will the 'owners' do with these wild animals now? ) then for the future animals that might otherwise be incarcerated there. Charles, this is good news really, isn't it?

Had the unfortunate privilege to speak with the folk at Dolphin Marine Conservation Park as they announced they were going into administration today

If anyone wants to visit me while I’m Poet in Residence at the Uni, this is the entrance to my cave. You have to say the word poetry 3 times or a serpent appears. Exactly 3 times. Loudly.

@NameNam87204510 @RogersHistory I know it's hard on teachers but telling tales out of school to get the emotional support /horrified reaction you crave just demonises children

Schools where students can walk in and out of lessons as and when they like, routinely argue with teachers, dispute basic instructions, swear, shout across rooms and in corridors, roam around in gangs AND where teachers are still scrutinised to hell and back... ❌

Well after waiting 2 years I'm finally at Melbourne Airport about to jump on a plane to complete my @UniMelb Dyason Fellowship working with @liltove at @ucsantacruz, visiting @jodyRcarr in New Brunswick, visiting a bunch of🏆 schools in the US and Canada, and going to Yosemite NP

@phillipdawson One more question - staff training, is that mandatory or self access. Does a good repository of online resources for staff cut it as staff training or does it have to be a scheduled event?

@phillipdawson Also, please explain central teams, does it mean an institution wide approach?

@phillipdawson Tasks students like - that suggests an innovative way forward. Love the idea, interested in how it might work in practice

@sandyosullivan @NTEUNational sorry to hear you've been so poorly treated. Is there anything specific members can ask the union to change so that what happened to you doesn't happen to others? (optimistic). I've been a member of different unions & sadly find that NTEU is the most expensive, least effective.

Hey if you're arguing with me about why people should stay in the @NTEUNational, just think about how great it is to be paying 1% of your salary to be treated with contempt and told you shouldn't exist. It couldn't be more colonial if it tried (and it has).
