New Data Alert! 1) Ever wondered what rebel groups are fighting for? We (@raffeman and @johanbrosche) have about 15,000 answers to that question. Today the UCDP Conflict Issues Dataset (UCDP CID) was launched through an article in Journal of Conflict Resolution.
Our project helps identifying the slow-moving micro-level processes that may underpin the decline in democracy worldwide+assesses how a sidelined but increasingly prevalent form of organized violence in many liberal democracies in Europe may play into this worrying development.
We will conduct a multi-method study, combing survey experiments, focus groups, and observational designs to understand how the Swedish population evaluates policy measures to deal with violent crime + when it accepts restrictions on civil liberties in this context. (2/3)
So excited that @Fjelde, @sirdeh and myself received funding from the @Vetenskapsradet (Swedish Research Council) to study how organized violent crimes affect citizens’ willingness to defend liberal democratic principles! (1/3)
