@Age_of_Greed @iamAtheistGirl Not so, Adrian. Christians worship a Trinitarian God, i.e. one God in three persons (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). In Islam, it's sinful to see Jesus as God's son. Islam traces its roots to Abraham but wasn't in fact invented till 100s of years after the Bible.
English

@AnneDroid @iamAtheistGirl If you don't worship the same God as Muslims, then you are BY DEFINITION not Christian.
English

these folk who say silly things like “i’m a christian and i don’t worship
the same god that muslims worship”
yeah. you do.
jews, muslims, and christians all worship the same god of abraham. hence the label “abrahamic religions”
but with all manmade gods they reflect the thoughts of the men who wrote about them so you get different flavors of the same god of abraham
it’s really that simple
English

@Ne_chloropterus @ArchTheAtheist Sorry, I still don't understand. I don't believe the Loch Ness monster exists. I'm not going to argue with someone who says that's my belief. It IS my belief!
English

@AnneDroid @ArchTheAtheist No, it's the absence of belief so therefore not a belief.
Like many atheists I don't know whether there is some sort of god or not with certainty, I actually don't care.
It's theists who are so arrogant as to tell ME what I think.
English

@Ne_chloropterus @ArchTheAtheist Maybe I didn't make myself clear, sorry. I know atheism isn't a whole religion. But your answer to the single question you mention is still a belief. You believe there is no god. And presumably you believe that belief is true or you wouldn't have it.
English

@AnneDroid @ArchTheAtheist That's NOT atheism.
Atheism is a single answer to a single question. Does an individual accept the existence of a god or gods. Nothing else.
As per to usual with theists you're conflating separate issues.
English

@banks_neche You sound very proud of yourself. Deconstructing religion is no bad idea, but Jesus most certainly does exist. Cutting him out of your life won't make it better.
English

@iamAtheistGirl It's not aggressive, or it shouldn't be. If I was a beggar who'd found a limitless supply of food, and you were also a beggar, it wouldn't be "aggressive" of me to share my good news. That is precisely the spirit in which Christians want to "convert" you.
English

@ArchTheAtheist Seriously? So you don't think that your belief that no-one made the world is a truth claim? Surely you believe that atheism is true or you wouldn't believe it? I don't understand that, sorry.
English

@AnneDroid Atheism isn’t a truth claim. There’s nothing to believe about it. Nothing nonsensical
Christianity is the nonsensical truth claim. Atheism is merely recognizing that
Atheism and theism aren’t equivalent
English

@Yousavewithus Well... yes in so far as an instinct goes. I'm definitely more "yes" than "no" to your question but not all questions have a yes/no answer. As a Christian, I find that being in communion with God adds a lot to my moral understanding.
English

@AnneDroid If humans have an instinct for justice and right vs wrong, isn’t that still a yes to the question?
English

@StardustVibes_ Trans-identifying people are human, no question. Those of us who remember why separate sports, prisons, rape shelters, toilets, changing rooms etc were created for women and girls are not for one minute suggesting trans-identifying people are not human.
English

@HelenWebberley We 100% want them to have medical care. Not chemical/physical mutilation but actual helpful medical care whereby psychological services can gently and kindly lead them to accept their biological reality and to love themselves and have a great life.
English

@___TheGOOdWitch Watching this self-satisfied atheist speak so patronisingly (hope he changes his mind), a Johnny Cash lyric popped unbidden into my head:
"Rod said, "I don't believe in God"
Rod died and lies beneath the sod
For God did not believe in Rod".
English

@AmandaTher90734 @w_bitterman @AmandaTher90734 that's really sad. I'm sorry you've had that experience. Human beings - in both churches and bars - can be unpleasant creatures. Assuming you're not a warmonger yourself, the church could do with your presence so think of coming back.
English

@w_bitterman I don’t care. Never going back to church again. War zone, nothing but fighting, power struggles. I get treated better at a bar than at a church.
English

@VinceSonat @JOKAQARMY1 @VinceSonat, we can NEVER lose our uniqueness so don't let that be an issue! Evil hive minds like Star Trek's "Borg" are (quite rightly) horrors to us. But becoming a Christian and becoming "in Christ" along with 1000s of others is sweet and beautiful.
English

I agree but I think religion is against God and authenticity.
Cause when you join a tribe, you hand over your uniqueness and join a hive mind, which is the complete opposite of being authentic, which means it's ultimately anti god.
So yes I am for God, but I am against tribalism and the hive mind.
English

@pureMetatron 1. Christians have a whole variety of political views, being a whole variety of people.
2. Jesus is Jesus. He didn't want or need to have a political "side" because he himself is in fact The Truth.
