Wildlife fights every single day against the odds, to survive, to live in balance, and to hold our planet together. Every wild creature matters. Every life has purpose. We are all connected. Let 2026 be the year we choose to do better. The year we make lasting changes that protect wildlife, heal our environment, and secure our planet’s future. Let us make laws that prevent cruelty, pain, and greed that destroy wild lives. Let’s replace indifference with compassion. It’s time to give wildlife the rights they deserve, for their survival, and for a brighter future for us all Choose Wildlife Anne Brummer Photo is by my awesome friend @PaulBrowingPhotogrraphy

Only a New Act will put an end to Hunting Wild Mammals with Dogs. Right now, loopholes in the current hunting laws are leaving foxes and deer vulnerable to hunts hell bent on killing wildlife for fun. Countless animals suffer because the law simply isn’t fit for purpose. Please sign and share our petition calling for a new, robust Hunting Act thats stops the killing. Every signature brings us closer to real change. Please sign and share far and wide c.org/LKSjxzMjfS Thank you for standing up for wildlife.

Wild animals are still being hunted. Still suffering. Still dying. The current law isn’t working. We need a NEW Hunting Act — one that actually protects them. ✍️ Please sign & share:c.org/6RVLgZJ7Dh

The human population is growing, and with that comes an increasing demand for homes. But if we are to truly save our precious wildlife species in a sustainable and meaningful way, we must balance the needs of people with the needs of nature. There are more people alive today than at any other time in history, and the government remains committed to delivering an ever-rising number of houses. Without careful planning, this will come at a devastating cost to wildlife. Our Wildlife Early Intervention Plan (WEIP) offers the solution. By placing wildlife at the heart of development planning, we can protect species while meeting the needs of our communities. Our first development with building giants Persimmons is underway Our Wildlife Early Intervention Plan (WEIP) has the solution #wildlifeearlyInterventionplan

🐾 Badger Cubs Ready for Release 🦡 Angelia, Tamara, Pearl, Orlando, Scarlett and Pedro have grown up in our soft-release run with no human contact. Here, they have been bonding, digging, and foraging just like any wild clan ; except without the protection of parents. This week, they will begin to explore the wider estate from the safety of their enclosure and air-conditioned sett. They are strong, fit, and ready. We’ve done our part, hours of veterinary time, hours of bottle feeding from our team has brought us to here ........and now it’s all down to their natural instincts. Please wish them well as they take their next big step on the journey back to the wild, where they truly belong. 💚 You can support our work and help us save even more wildlife by clicking the link here. hawr.co.uk/donate-to-us/?…

Defra Minister Daniel Zeichner and NFU President Tom Bradshaw visited Gatcombe Farm ahead of Sir Charles Godfrey’s forthcoming announcement, accompanied by many officials. It was encouraging to see Tom Bradshaw once again supporting the work, as he has visited previously to show his commitment to our team. Daniel Zeichner will soon announce the new measures that will be introduced in place of culling. These steps will finally allow farmers to properly understand and manage bovine TB within their herds. The solution is there — it simply requires looking in the right places. The current system has been cruel not only to badgers, but also to farmers and cattle. . bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episod… #wakeupdefra

🐾 Eani, Meni, Myni, Mo, Derek & Jo were found in a garden clearance hidden in a black sack. At just a few hours old time was not on our side. After waiting and watching throughout the day the homeowner saw no signs of Mum so the tiny visitor arrived with us. With two hour feeds around the clock and 36 hours later, they are just starting to settle. We use a lot of equipment and many human hours to feed our orphans but they are worth it. The TB Truth Journey: What a Decade Has Taught Us. Over the past ten years, we’ve followed the science, the data, and the reality on the ground — and the truth is clear: if badgers play any role in the transmission of bovine TB, it is negligible to zero. Bovine TB survives, thrives, and spreads within cattle herds — often hidden in plain sight. The outdated government restrictions and testing regimes are tying the hands of those trying to stop it. It’s like being asked to play football for England with your boots laces firmly tied together. We’ve seen cattle pass the standard skin test over 30 times that are infected with TB. This highlights the massive flaws in current detection methods. In contrast, our approach has shown that you can eliminate TB from herds in just a few years — if you dare to look properly. An “inconclusive” result doesn’t mean an animal is in the clear. On the contrary, it strongly suggests that the animal is infected and is a carrier. Bovine TB is a hidden threat. It doesn’t always reveal itself and only becomes detectable at specific stages in the pathogens life and only with certain tests. The situation is like a pantomime: while everyone’s shouting at the badgers, someone should be yelling, “It’s behind you — in the cattle!” The government is phasing out the badger cull — because it hasn’t worked. After all these years, bovine TB is still present at similar levels. The cull failed to tackle the real problem because it was never the the badgers fault. The truth is that farmers, cattle, and badgers have all been let down in such cruel ways. It's time to allow vets to do their jobs, using every available tool, including advanced diagnostic tests, to find and eliminate infection at its true source: in the herd and not in the clan. Toxic lead ammunition used to kill wildlife is banned to protect wildlife Every year, a staggering 7,000 tonnes—yes, tonnes—of toxic lead are released into the UK’s fields, forests, and wetlands through shooting. The consequences are devastating: around 100,000 wildfowl, including ducks, swans, and waders, die annually from lead poisoning.Even more worrying, blood tests on birds of prey have revealed dangerously high levels of lead—evidence of secondary poisoning. These levels have been tolerated for far too long, quietly accumulating year after year while an estimated 50 million birds are shot for sport in the UK annually. Now, the government has finally recognised the serious environmental damage caused by recreational shooting with lead ammunition.A full ban on toxic lead ammunition for outdoor shooting across Great Britain will come into force by 2029. The Government plans to introduce legislation by summer 2026, followed by a three-year transition period. This is a vital lifeline for Britain’s wildlife, especially species living in and around our wetlands—some of the most sensitive and ecologically valuable habitats we have. It can always be faster but at least it here xxx #BanLeadNow #SaveOurRaptors #Buzzards #RedKites #WildlifeConservation #RaptorPersecution #LeadPoisoning #BirdsofPrey #SaveMeTrust #WildlifeMatters #NatureNeedsUs #BritishWildlife

Heartbreaking. 💔 The government has rejected proposals to protect England’s chalk streams. The UK is home to 85% of the world’s chalk streams, rare, precious ecosystems found almost nowhere else on Earth. These rivers are our nation’s rainforest, crystal-clear lifelines for biodiversity, heritage and communities. We cannot afford to lose them in the name of short-term economic growth. Some things are too rare to risk, too vital to ignore. 🌿 Chalk streams need protection. Not promises. #SaveOurRivers #ChalkStreams #NatureNotNeglect

Please remember to put water out for wildlife. A simple dish of clean water can make a huge difference to hedgehogs, birds – even bees. Place it in a shaded spot, keep it topped up, and you might be surprised by who comes to visit. 🦡🦔🦋🌿🐝

Angelica, Scarlet, Tamara and Pearl, just four of our lovely bouncy badger clan have braved the big outdoors, venturing out into their soft release run. We should see the others emerging over the next few days as the outside world starts to feel a little less scary—and curiosity begins to win them over. Well done ladies and good luxk xxx

Don't leave your iPhone unattended in a badger cub area! A very busy Scarlet, Orlando, and Pearl are out and about exploring before they get moved to soft release. It's Angelica who doesn't appreciate the press intrusion—and takes matters into her own mouth!!! xxx
