It was an honour to contest the General Election 2024 for Mayo. My motivation is and always will be to work for the betterment of our county. I chose to run for the Dáil, to be in a position to improve the supply of housing, to fight for the delivery of vital transport projects and to ensure we get our fair share from government. Unfortunately it was not to be. I would like to sincerely thank my family, friends and campaign team who put in an incredible amount of effort over the course of the past number of weeks, I am extremely indebted to them all. I also congratulate all of the candidates who put their name on the ballot paper and those who have been elected. A final word of thanks to everyone who placed their faith in me by voting Duffy #1 on Friday.
