A special thank you to YDEF's outgoing chair Dr Anne DeBray. Under her exceptional leadership and guidance, the role of pre-specialty representatives was established, a new IMT webinar series was launched and Maternal Medicine and Obesity were added to YDEF's suite of courses!

Packing to head home from a fantastic week at #ATTD24! So many highlights widely shared by others already. Personally, I’ll never forget the pigeon flying into my oral presentation…

NEW: we need to talk about NHS staff retention. At a time when Britain’s healthcare system is acutely short of workers, *1 in 7* UK-trained doctors are practising overseas. No other developed country is like this, which immediately tells you there’s a problem. Let’s dig deeper:

Nice collaboration with @dynafluors and colleagues showing labelling of endogenous GPR54 in islets, expertly imaged by @AnniedBB @OCDEM!
DYNAFLUORS@dynafluors

From now on, BODIPY amino acids are STABLE to TFA and can be used in SPPS to make peptide probes for imaging GPCRs in islets. Important @angew_chem led by Lorena Mendive-Tapia (her first as *) with great collaborators @DieNicole2 @daveyboyhod @ugent. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/an…

A heartwarming moment today in the coffee room with two other anaesthetic trainees, spontaneously sharing how our job pushed our mental health off the cliff at some point in our career. And just hearing that other people go through it is enough to make you feel normal again. 1/3
