Yesterday, our YES Program cadets were able to train at a U.S. Marshals facility with local police academy recruits. The cadets were put through many different scenarios, were given medical training, learned the basics of breaching, and more.

YES program members spent time with Cpl. Sorrell who gave some great instruction on basic life saving techniques. The members learned how to administer CPR properly, apply, and operate an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) and help someone who is choking or having a seizure.

Sergeant Hamrick and our School Resource Officer, Corporal McGraw, attended the Career Fair at the Anniston High School. They spoke with students about what a great career in law enforcement can be and how to apply to join our team.

.@AnnistonPD are investigating a double shooting - sadly one person is dead. Police say a woman, 51, is in critical condition at UAB. A man, 55, died at the scene. Police believe the man shot the woman then turned the gun on himself. More on @WBRCnews

We currently have five recruits attending the police academy. They spent several hours today with two of our firearms instructors learning about basic care and proper handling of their weapons, some Use of Force rules and performed some basic shooting drills.
