I love Yu-Gi-Oh. But, I miss Yu-Gi-Oh. I miss the super edgy anime, where the protagonist was going to die horribly unless they could justify destroying the moon to drain the tide. And you sit back and go "damn... Why didn't I think of that?!" Now there is no edgy anime. More than that, I miss a card game that was simple. I would activate my trap card and my opponent would go "No!" I would summon a monster, set a card face down and end my turn. Now there is 40 steps to a turn, requiring me to remember at least 1000 words of effects of cards in my hand, deck, extra deck, and graveyard. I miss, opening a pack and actually be able to do 'something' with every card (yes, skull servant sucks but, I can still use him). As opposed to modern packs where I open a pack get 5 cards that reference and require 30 other cards that I don't own. Making them all worthless.

@MochiTsuno Haven't touched Wixoss, but I will say that Hajime doesn't suck at Magic, and that Aichi isn't god's gift to Vanguard. More so a talented rookie, as he does make mistakes. And Vanguard defo isn't unfun, though the game did have growing pains.

@MochiTsuno If you like a protagonist that have higher percentage of losing or lose rates against the rivals or villain then, Duel Masters has that.
Shobu lost against Kokujo at first before he won. Shobu always lost to Hakuoh during training. Shobu lost against Zakira even life at stake

@MidnightCorvus For me, I'm sorta starting to narrow down onto an idea, tying real hard into the story I'm crafting.
As a small hint: I am going to use BBT in the idea, and how Kaiba's satellites record duels... but in a slightly different way.

My girlfriend had the same problem! Her lore was mainly ready - but she couldn't decide on her deck 🤭 She finally did now, but I know it can take some time~

For the record: Don't slide into my comments and try to tell me, I'm not 'allowed' to use Horus as a ace, because 'a side character in season 4 already used him as a ace' - this gets you a block and I'm not even going to explain to you, that there is a reason in my lore for this

Funny thing is that I do have S1 more or less planned, just spinning my wheels 'bout the deck.

@MidnightCorvus 'Cause while I did have an idea of a custom archetype based off of Irish fairies of the underworld, some new story ideas and themes of GX made me feel unsatisfied.
Plus trying to redesign the girls' uniform, as having them be the same white as 3rd-year students' felt wonky to me

@MidnightCorvus And I *sorta* get it, the thought of "Everyone's Ace has to be unique to them", but DM+GX anime, we have Jinzo as someone's boss monster 4 times, so it's not as hard of a rule

I will feel bad for Finland if they lose out again, they have been the best example of turning around at Eurovision and their national final has gone from non existent to one everyone waits for all year. I hope if they do not win that they don’t take it as it will never happen

I hated the 5D’s glazing in Arc V it was far too much. half of the synchro-arc should have been spent in fusion and xyz diemension.
