@FrankLf24460@KirstieMAllsopp Imagine, you couldv’e been retiring earlier if you had asked for a payrise. Wasted. You’re clearly noticing with a strike how valuable blue collar workers are in society. 😁
@AnonTrainDriver@KirstieMAllsopp I retired this year aged 63
Worked at the same company for 46 y . The only rise I ever asked for was when I turned 21, because I was urged to. Through hard work I rose to senior engineer and then was offered with 3 others the opportunity for a MBO which I did. Hard work 🤷🏻♂️
In a hospital, just listening to a nurse discuss his very difficult journey to work this morning. Perhaps one of the striking tube drivers might want to do a job swap for a day?
@FrankLf24460@KirstieMAllsopp Maybe so, but being happy doesn’t pay the ever increasing bills. I’m guessing you’ve never had a payrise or would ever accept one going forward…
@FrankLf24460@KirstieMAllsopp Pay rises are based on terms and conditions. It works both ways. Companies will always try to change T&Cs. Payrise offers Companies more productivity for more pay. It’s not just take take take… cmon you’re better than that. Why leave a job if you’re good at it and happy?
@AnonTrainDriver@KirstieMAllsopp You apply and get a job. Then you hold your company to ransom because you are not happy with the conditions, the conditions that were there when you joined. You should leave and find a job that matches your ambition, or lack of
@Spangle17619373@KirstieMAllsopp None were furloughed. 15% but best part of 5 yrs with no payrise. No benefit to working throughout Covid. Overtime because they can’t retain staff - a lot is forced overtime. Companies can change your shifts and affect your life massively. Wake up and stop reading the mail.
@AnonTrainDriver@KirstieMAllsopp Train drivers - on £69k, accepted a pi of 15% cumulative over the last 3 years last year. Furloughed and job security when many lost their jobs. Think overtime and unsocial hours payments are on top of the above figure. Genuine question, when will train drivers be satisfied?
@KirstieMAllsopp Potentially one incident and your driving career is over so not necessarily a secure job but a perception. Fatigue plays a big factor. It shouldn’t be tit for tat. Everyone should try and get a better life as it’s hardly great at times in this country for the majority.
@AnonTrainDriver No one is forced to be a train driver. It’s a secure job with good benefits and pension. These strikes cripple London and make life difficult for many people who have much more difficult, less well paid jobs.
