A Palestinian hostage has died today in Israeli concentration camp. His name is Mohammad Ahmad al-Halabi. Israel had held him hostage since 1991. (Note: in December 2023, Israel murdered his son Ahmad. A month before that, Israel killed his sister, her husband, and their entire family.)

Massive demolition and destruction operations are shaking eastern Khan Younis. A specialist surgeon in Austin, consulted with his orthopedic colleague and he agreed a non-surgical approach is best for Murray – he will need significant additional physical and therapeutic treatments a vet. In addition, Murray also needs surgery for his upper lip injury, vet update appointments, vaccinations, neuter and physical therapy. A long road ahead for this little guy but hopefully a better future. On the 78th anniversary of the Nakba, we are not only remembering a tragedy from the past — we are living it today in every detail. Displacement, tents, loss of safety, and a harsh life where we struggle to survive day by day. Seventy-eight years ago, our grandparents were forced from their homes, and today we are being displaced once again, carrying what remains of our lives as we search for a place to shelter. Despite the pain, we still hold on to life, to our land, and to the hope that all this suffering has not been able to take away from us. The Nakba never ended… we are living it now.

How I wish I could leave my thoughts as easily as I leave a place where I feel uncomfortable... But thoughts have no doors, they don't acknowledge the right to escape. They besiege me in my quietest moments and reopen wounds I thought had closed. I carry my head like a room overflowing with noise, every thought dragging another, every memory grabbing my hand and saying: We're not finished yet. I'm tired of thinking, of replaying scenes, of judging myself for things that are gone and no longer have the right to remain. Sometimes I long for simple rest, for a calm mind that doesn't search for fire in the ashes, for sleep not preceded by a long battle with memory. But I always wake up with the same heaviness, with the same unanswerable questions, and with the same impossible desire: to step out of my head for a little while, to breathe away from my thoughts, even just once... without pain... Since this morning, I’ve been watching Lucy as if time is slipping through my hands… little by little.😔 Her condition is getting worse… She keeps collapsing, and her tiny heart can no longer handle this weakness. I took her to the vet, and he told me the cause is serious: severe malnutrition. It has drained her strength, made her body fragile, weakened her heart, and put her life at risk every single moment. Yesterday, thanks to some kind-hearted people, I managed to buy some of what she needs… But there is still so much missing — especially food and proper treatment to help her survive. Malnutrition doesn’t just make her weak… It takes away her ability to stand, to eat, to fight… It is slowly taking her away right in front of me. I’m scared… because I feel like I’m losing her now. israeli military boats have illegally surrounded the flotilla in international waters and threatened kidnapping and violence. Communications with 11 vessels have been lost and israeli media claims that 7 boats have been intercepted. Governments must act now to protect the flotilla, hold israel accountable for these flagrant violations of international law and for israel's ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. UPDATE The Israeli court approved the extension of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s detention, without charges. The request for his immediate release was denied, despite the unlawful nature of his detention while carrying out his medical duties. He is held in Negev Prison in harsh conditions, without access to medication or medical care, as his health continues to deteriorate. We demand the immediate release of Dr. Abu Safiya along with 13 other detained doctors, as well as all medical personnel currently held in Israel. We call on the international community to intervene and put an end to this abuse.
