You dare not receive the Holy Eucharist in an unworthy manner. Ensure that you go to confession and that you are in a state of grace. Do not receive the Holy Eucharist when you have committed mortal sin. This is exactly why St. Paul warned believers in 1 Corinthians 11 that many are weak, sick, and even dying, because they receive the Body and Blood of the Lord unworthily. The Eucharist is not ordinary bread. This is Jesus Christ Himself. Examine your conscience. Repent sincerely. Go to confession. Then receive our Lord worthily, with reverence and fear of God. "Whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord." - 1 Corinthians 11:27

Protestants don't actually think through their theology or their arguments against the Catholic Church.... This is an interesting argument from Protestants. You don't even realize what you're saying here. Let me explain it slowly for you: 1. You're claiming that Catholics violate these commands by receiving the Eucharist, because we believe the Eucharist is His Body & Blood 2. But you ALSO believe communion is His Body & Blood, but symbolically 3. But here's the problem. Symbolically committing a sin is ALSO sinful. 4. So you're accusing Christ of commanding His followers to symbolically violate a command of God 5. Because you believe Jesus symbolically commanded sin, then you DON'T believe Christ is God, because God can't command sin 6. So you are denying the Divinity of Christ with your attack on the Catholic Church. 7. You've now been corrected on your error with simple reason and logic. It's time you stop using this attack against the Church or stop calling yourselves Christians

If you haven't seen my debate-ending video obliterating the legitimacy of Wes Huff's 6 points of anti-Catholicism, here it is: m.youtube.com/watch?v=9RwzVy…
Timothy Gordon (Rules for Retrogrades Show)@timotheeology

Wes Huff 🧵 Mistaken view on RC/Protestantism #1: Wes Huff believes that by dividing "what Scripture is" & "what Scripture does," one proves Scripture's sufficiency w/o Tradition But the former isn't independent of human authorship/canon-selection & the latter isn't independent of authoritative interpretation--both of which prioritize Tradition

How about "thou shall not murder" ??? The Bible is crystal clear about the value of innocent human life. It’s also clear about wolves in sheep’s clothing who distort Scripture to fit a political agenda.
TheBlaze@theblaze

James Talarico: “I trust women to make decisions about their own bodies. I don’t think that’s a place for government. That’s a belief I hold not despite my faith, but because of my faith. Jesus never talks about abortion. The Bible is silent on abortion.”

@SkyVirginSon Tertullian's use of "Vicar of Christ" (Latin: Vicarius Christi) in late 2nd or early 3rd century, initially referred to the Holy Spirit acting as Jesus Christ’s representative on Earth. Centuries later, the Catholic Church decided to give the title to bishops and the pope.

THEY TOLD PROTESTANTS THAT “VICAR OF CHRIST” WAS A CATHOLIC INVENTION. HISTORY SAYS OTHERWISE. The title Vicarius Christi meaning “Vicar of Christ” existed centuries before the medieval Church. Saint Cyprian of Carthage used the idea of Christ governing His Church through appointed bishops as early as 250 AD. This was long before the Great Schism. Long before the Reformation. Long before the accusations critics repeat today. The earliest Christians believed Christ left authority on earth through His Apostles. And they believed Peter held a unique role among them. That is why the Church in Rome carried extraordinary authority from the beginning. Saint Irenaeus wrote in 180 AD that every Church must agree with the Church of Rome because of its preeminent authority. These were not medieval Catholics. These were Christians living just generations after the Apostles themselves. And here is what unsettles many critics most: Peter is not a myth. His bones were discovered beneath Saint Peter’s Basilica. In 1968, after years of archaeological investigation, the Vatican announced that the relics believed to be Saint Peter’s had been identified beneath the high altar. The chair was never empty. Empires collapsed. Kings disappeared. Persecutions came and went. But the line from Peter never vanished. That is why the papacy remains one of the most attacked institutions on earth. If the office meant nothing, the world would not fight it so fiercely. So here is the real question: What is the strongest objection to papal authority you have ever heard? Drop it below. 🔥

@FaceLikeTheSun 🤦‍♂️ another post attempt. *your point about proof-of-work for digital items is the bridge that connects ‘iron’ and ‘miry clay’—and like essay said ‘w/o the binding of the physical and digital it won’t work.’

Pope just announced how immaterial things are property. This is interestingly the thesis first objectively achieved by Bitcoin: that there can be such things as digital property/assets based on digital scarcity. What’s fascinating is that this creates a meta layer on physical reality. In other words, an unseen realm. It mimics the spiritual realm that actually exists. And in the same way the spiritual realm has physical consequences, so too will this digital layer have increasing physical consequences. It also defeats philosophical materialism because we are now actively being affected by immaterial digital things that we cannot touch. Yet, physical infrastructure is still necessary for existence. Watch for how this affects energy infrastructure as it will increasingly become the physical blood to give digital realm “breath” Pay attention to how proof-of-work will get incorporated into all digital items. Without it, the binding of the physical and digital will not work without it. Still, the implications for our spiritual walk with Christ doesn’t change. The narrow path will persist and the way, the truth, and the life will shine in a world whose darkness is becoming quantized and immutable. Stay watchful ✝️

Pope Leo XIV@Pontifex

Today, among the goods that are universally intended for everyone, we must also include new forms of property, such as patents, algorithms, digital platforms, technological infrastructure and data. In a context where the wealth of nations depends increasingly on knowledge and technology, when these goods remain concentrated in the hands of a few, without adequate forms of sharing and access, a new imbalance is created that contradicts the universal destination of goods. In turn, it widens the gap between the included and the excluded, between those who can participate in the digital revolution and those who remain on the margins. #MagnificaHumanitas

@FaceLikeTheSun Interesting spiritual parallels between Material (physical) + Immaterial (digital). Brings to mind Daniel 2:42 “… toes of the feet were part of iron, part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, partly broken.” The kingdom is unstable/divided. 1/2

Question for my Protestant friends: Since the Bible was not compiled until after the death of Jesus and his apostles, and the Jews did not have a universally established canon at the time of Christ’s death, how do you know which books belong in the Bible?

@Catholic_bro Catholics tend to enjoy the pomp, popery, and an ecclesial labyrinth of rituals, rules, and red tape, worn as the mask of tradition, that hides the church’s questionable authority. Just observin’, not criticizing.

I read the Bible a lot, literally every day, so it’s guaranteed I’ll read the entire Bible at least once in a year. Because I do that, it’s really easy for me to go through the entire Bible focusing specifically on a certain subject like Protestantism. I’ve done it several times now, and every time I do, Protestantism only gets worse. There is no justifying it, none whatsoever. It only becomes more and more clear that Protestantism is Satan’s counterfeit and the mother of all harlots.

The question Protestants never ask: "Why did Catholics ADD 7 books to the Bible?" Wrong frame. Completely wrong. The real question is: why did Luther REMOVE them in the 1500s? A thread.

If you skip mass but read the Bible, I want you to know that lucifer has gotten hold of you. Why? Even demons know the Bible and understand it better than you. Demons believe in God and they fear Him more than you. The Bible you're skipping church to read has told you that "anyone who breaks one of the commandments is guilty of breaking the remaining commandments." Do you know what that means?
