@TaiyouSun @NalinisKitchen Oh so the chuo shinkansen being delayed from 2027 target I usually to now 2039 target would mean that ministers would have committed seppuku ?

Japan has openly pointed at India for the delays in the Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train project. Japanese minister Hideki Makihara said the project got delayed because of India's side, not Japan's. He also raised concerns over changes in the original Shinkansen plan and said these issues affected the partnership. The Bullet Train project was launched in 2017 with a 2023 target. Now, expected in 2027 while the full route will take even longer. My opinion: Delays can happen in projects of this size, but when your closest partner starts pointing fingers in public, it becomes more than just an engineering issue.

@samarsheoran If russia charges extra for the fighter jets india buys from france. if France charges extra there are options from Russia or Sweden. But if you lock into DC-ATC the options are killed, cause no one else uses that signalling locking you permanently to the JR East's signalling.

@DocRGM_ I don't know if you have the capacity to understand this but try. Locking in to japanese signalling means giving the Company JR East a monopoly on the future HSR tracks in India for signalling. Whereas ETCS is open with multiple vendors. So logically ETCS is the right choice.

Japanese Expert on India’s Bullet Train Project (Shinkansen): “Indian Govt don’t keep promises. Even if they make one, they flip it right away. The minister was especially awful.” "Japan excluded from the critical safety signal system. Failure is 100% on the Indian side."

@WithLoveBihar "Promise" is meaningless in a Contract. There are "terms of agreement". If India broke any, the Japanese government will be taking legal action, not ranting on Twitter.

Japanese minister has openly criticized India of unprofessionalism in Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project . He has also criticised the minister involved which should be Ashwini Vaishnav.

@WithLoveBihar @nokitoskasan You think japan funded it out of good will? at that time Japan was in deflation. So even getting a 0.1 return on loan was a big thing for them. Think logically my friend.

Where was that thought when you first signed the agreement and asked Japan to fund the project entirely free of cost in exchange for Japanese trains and technology. After all Japanese tech is the best. Your self interest in getting free money matters but to them it doesn't ? Are they not answerable to their people ? Who gives billions of dollars for free ?

@WithLoveBihar I can't see how the people of India are so braindead right now. Can't you comprehend he would say that because his interest was sacrificed. With india choosing ETCS signalling over DC-ATC signalling. Effectively the japanese shinkansen is ruled out. DC-ATC is proprietery..

Tata’s chip plant at Dholera will start with 90 nanometer technology. The chairman’s annual report said the journey begins at 28nm. The gap between those 2 numbers is the most useful lesson in Indian markets right now. Let me explain.

All sane Indians know that this man is telling the truth. He was Japanese minister in charge of bullet train. I’d say things would’ve been far worse than he is claiming. Who is the minister he is referring to?

@CharlieVertical Absolute horsehit. A damage road gets repaired in no time in Japan because they have figured out all the process. In India, just to fix a pothole takes six months because they can’t follow procedure and relies on jugaad.

I have worked with Japanese Government/JICA on a few projects in Mizoram and Meghalaya. The issue with Japanese Govt. is that they are too rigid and have always wanted to implement Japanese policies in India without actually understanding the reasons why we push for implementation of our policies. For example, when the Japanese organised a training programme on responding to road damage and emergencies, they made us enact the entire process they follow. What struck us was how long and process heavy their response system was. So much time was spent following procedures that, in an actual emergency, it almost seemed counterproductive. It was taking them almost 12 hours to start their operations. In our case, the response would usually be much more direct. If there was a landslide or a road blockage, the officer on the ground would simply call the loader operator and get the machinery moving immediately. The first response would already be underway while the formal intimation to the Government and other procedural requirements were being taken care of. Of course, their system had a clear process and accountability built into it, but the exercise also showed us that too much process can sometimes slow down the very response it is meant to facilitate. So i would take whatever they say with a pinch of salt.

@hmakihara Obviously the country will push for self interest. India unlike Japan is not a vassal of anyone who will accept any demands. As long as the signed agreement is not broken then anything can be changed. Why would India buy DC-ATC signalling ? When ETCS is cheaper and more advanced.

🇺🇸 Sometimes I really wonder about America. As a Japanese person, most of the hate comments I get on X come from people in developing countries. They may not hate Japan, but they constantly attack and insult the US. It makes me ask: Why does America even bother helping some of these nations? Many clearly hate the US, admire its adversaries like Russia & China, and hate American success. I'm not an isolationist but the US should seriously reconsider sending aid to people who show zero gratitude.

GLISCO-DS created protests against Adani in Kenya for a deal they secured with the govt of Kenya by doing propaganda that the project affects the environment, is over priced etc. This was entirely done using social media in Kenya instigating their citizens against India and Adani by state sponsored psyops. The protests in Kenya was also used to hit Adani in India by turning Indians against the company and used for politics. Now, a few years later, a Chinese company got the same project for 1.5x the price Adani quoted and won. There are no protests in Kenya now. It is the same project, same environmental concerns, much higher price, and we can be sure the project will use mostly Chinese engineers and won't care much about any regulation. Please tell this story to your concerned friend who gets easily instigated against India's companies and development plans seeing Insta reels. Share it with your Kenyan friends. This is how they do psyops, derail Indian companies, hit Indian development, and then profit of it. Do not let them protest against development in Anadaman or Adani again. The same Kenya toolkit is being used to derail India's strategic development and destroy strategic companies.

This man has been living in Japan for nearly 30 years. - His children were born in Japan and can only speak Japanese and have only Japanese friends. - He was asked to return to India. - He was told to shut down the restaurant he had been running for 18 years. - His business manager visa renewal was denied under Japan’s strict immigration rules. It’s high time we became realistic about life abroad. No matter how many years you spend there, how much tax you pay, or how much you sacrifice, you are still an immigrant, and a cheap labourer until the country officially accepts you permanently. The moment policies change, your emotions, loyalty, and hard work mean nothing. Go abroad to study or earn money if you want, but never forget: you are replaceable there. Build your life wisely, get PR or citizenship if possible, and always keep a way back home. Blind attachment to a foreign land is one of the biggest mistakes people make. Your motherland is the only place that cannot cancel your existence.
