Jennifer Lawrence claimed online backlash cost her a role in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood: “Tarantino did want me for the role & then everyone was like, ‘She’s not pretty enough to play Sharon Tate.’ & then he [didn’t cast me]. I’m pretty sure it is true.” Is she not pretty enough?

YouTuber Grace Randolph seems to love The Mandalorian And Grogu: "I just saw The Mandalorian and Grogu. This guy [Mandalorian], still a total badass... but this guy [Grogu] is pretty much totally worthless! Now, I can't review the movie until Tuesday, May 19th at 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. But I will tell you: if you're gonna see this baby in theaters, you gotta see it in IMAX... 'cause the visuals—they were stunning!" Is this what paid access media looks like?

Pedro Pascal, at the London premiere of Marvel's Thunderbolts in April 2025, weeks before calling JK Rowling a "heinous loser": Pascal skipped the formal red carpet dress code entirely, showing up in a baseball cap and a white T-shirt reading "Protect the Dolls," a pro-transgender slogan from designer Conner Ives whose proceeds go to Trans Lifeline. He wore the shirt. Then he called Rowling a heinous loser. Then he went back to work for Disney. Does Disney have a double standard on which political statements are acceptable from its stars?

Hollywood celebrities need to learn that their activism comes at a cost

Whilst one never wants to agree with Grace Randolph, it is clear to see that influencers are simply being bought by the studios to hawk their films. Look at the near identical way all the people who went to the Mandalorian and Grogu premiere are speaking

Games Journalists much like Film Journalists are often bought and paid for and following a political direction rather than actually looking at a film or game and going would people like this

The fact they are going to have a softer and more family friendly version of Punisher in Brand New Day makes no sense, particularly after where One Last Kill leaves him

Humanitarian catastrophe in Cuba: the country has run out of fuel Cuba’s energy minister said the country’s reserves of oil and diesel have been completely exhausted. As a result, blackouts have sharply increased. In Havana and nearby areas, electricity can be out for 20–22 hours a day. The country is also facing shortages of food and medicine, and public services are paralyzed. Cuba has not received fuel shipments since December. Venezuela had been one of the main suppliers, but exports stopped after Maduro was overthrown. The war in the Middle East has also worsened the crisis, as fuel prices have surged. The United States offered humanitarian aid in exchange for political liberalization. However, Cuba’s president accused the U.S. of an energy blockade, saying sanctions pushed the situation to a critical point. Meanwhile, protests have resumed on the island: hundreds of Havana residents took to the streets after the blackout.

@Variety Literally all these questions are valid. The Odyssey is going to be a train wreck.
