When the first thing I hear is “cost dependent,” when asked what they will do in free agency, that doesn’t make me thrilled, even if honest

The Timberwolves believe they’re building something that will show Anthony Edwards they’re a serious threat in the Western Conference, per @JonKrawczynski “They also created a $33 million trade exception, which they could use to take on a player without sending salary out. Couple that with internal development of young players like Terrence Shannon Jr., Joan Beringer and Jaylen Clark and the Timberwolves believe they are showing Edwards that they are serious about winning in the West. The Wolves know they have much more to do to get back in the conversation for another conference finals run.” (Via nytimes.com/athletic/73885…)

Just in: Chicago, Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi-team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls and Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Detroit also receives a 2026 first-round protected swap from Minnesota.

Welcome to Milwaukee, Nate Ament!

Here's Tim Connelly when asked about the belief Anthony Edwards has in where the team is going. "I think he's super, super excited. There's been countless things we could have done. Our roster is pretty well thought of league-wide. When you go to your leaders like Ant and you say, 'it takes get this to get that' and the conviction he has in our guys is evident when you say, 'no, we're not trading this guy'."

Tim Connelly said he thinks Jaden McDaniels has "a couple more gears to get to". Asked Connelly what those additional gears might look like. "I think consistency across the board. I think we gotta unlock some of his playmaking. Really, offensively, there's not much he can't do, as we saw in that closeout game versus Denver... We know he can be a special, special player. It's gotta be consistent. It can't be some nights 20, some nights 4 or 5. So it's not just a physical approach, it's a mental approach. The willingness to accept the added responsibility. We think he's ready for that."

Nate Ament hit the 🤨🤣 Watch the 2026 NBA Draft on June 23-24!
