@JakeWStephens91 @Lea_EFC That's not how the stupid rules work now unfortunately.. if the ref gives it it gets given..if the ref doesn't give it then it doesn't get overturned and doesn't get given was the verdict.. it's a big flaw of VAR..the team that gets the decision from the ref still benefits more.

Interesting that in the Everton points deduction verdict the Premier League said “A financial penalty for a club that enjoys the support of a wealthy owner is not a sufficient penalty” and that “the requirements of deterrence, vindication of compliant clubs, and the protection of the integrity of the sport demand a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction’. Presumably the Chelsea fine (which ultimately is just a deduction from what billion dollar Clearlake will pay to billionaire Abramovich from the £150m held back at the deal date) is then neither punishment, a deterrent or protecting the integrity of the sport? If I was an Everton or Forest fan would not be happy with this outcome.

@joe_thomas18 Think Newcastle are ones to watch. Have underperformed but are right behind us now. We have some tricky fixtures left in comparison to most.

That’s a really useful comeback for Everton’s European ambitions. A Brentford win would have created a tough gap to seventh given Blues’ upcoming fixtures (which includes trip to GTech). Results pretty handy for Everton this weekend, though still so many in contention for top 7/8

Be happy to see Thierno Barry gone this summer. Tried to back him as much as possible but painting the club in a bad light because he’s fucked up and put Arsenal supporting mates in our end. Not only that, his output has been nowhere near good enough for his attitude.

@AntMill5 @GiuliaBould Unless we knew who the players were there's no way of knowing if they'd regret it. Some maybe felt they were too big for us or that they wanted to chase European football and now find themselves in a relegation nightmare.

Interesting to hear from David Moyes how players refused to join Everton in the summer. You have to think it's their loss now. He told me he is having to manage Jarrad Branthwaite's minutes but he is available for Arsenal. Thanks to the canteen for the bacon butties too 😋

@torturedtoffee @GiuliaBould There are arguments both ways.. some players have thrived.. KDH and Grealish.. feels like others have stagnated.. Rohl played well at Villa and hasn't been seen since, same for Aznou v Sunderland.. after spending nearly 100 mill.. it's the same 11 as last season bar KDH + Barry.

@AntMill5 @GiuliaBould They need to earn their place in the side and they simply haven't done that, those ahead of them continue to perform. They were also signed for the future, so there's that.
