@anonymouspro_ @ironmike_405 Although of course you do not want to drop below 6 reps for the average gym goer because you're entering powerlifting territory and it's not suited for recreational lifters
English

@anonymouspro_ @ironmike_405 From my understanding, the biggest factor of muscle growth is intensity. If you're sending the right stimulus to your muscles, they will grow no matter if you did 6 - 12 - 20 or 40 reps. Admitting the intensity levels are the same at the end of the set, you will grow.
English

“The muscle doesn’t care about weight , it cares about how much tension you’re putting through”
Hotiihotii🔥@hotiiofficial
This is one of the biggest bodybuilders ever squatting 100kg, this is the weight he mostly use for his squats, and gym bros still want me to believe you can only build muscles by lifting the heaviest weights

@Maharetina For the love of football yes. I can't believe Argentina didn't get help to get there.
English

@Lorentz0001 @lequipe Because Infantino is serving him two WCs on a silver platter. That is the reason. Bullshit all across.

@EarthsideManuf1 @TheLastFarm Not necessarily. When you're running a great race you can feel it and you're full of adrenaline and endorphins, you're almost high. The reality catches you later, when you're cooled down.
English

@TheLastFarm It might be a sign he could do it faster with even more training, since cardio clearly isn't a limiting factor for him.
English

Mind-blowing that this guy is yelling and prancing immediately after crossing the finish line instead of gasping and puking

Scottish athlete Josh Kerr breaks the 1-mile world record with a time of 3:42.66, the previous world record having stood for 27 years.

@thestrongdoc I stopped watching as soon as he gave 0/10 to box jumps. It's enough to know he doesn't have a clue
English

You won't believe why this ortho surgeon hid my comment😂
He posted a reel "rating" exercises, gave box jumps & deadlifts 0/10. Misinformation from start to finish, zero grasp of biomechanics or exercise physiology.
I called it out. His reply? "Display your credentials," then promptly hid my comment🧵

@AdamMeakins I'm a personal trainer and I follow A LOT of physios because I'll learn many things I don't know about pain and injuries.
English

🤔JUST A PT🤔
I hear this a lot.
And with absolutely no disrespect to the many excellent top class personal trainers out there, our jobs are not the same.
A good personal trainer is an expert in helping people get stronger, fitter, healthier and perform better.
And all respect to them! 🫡
But a good physiotherapist should first be an expert in recognising when something that looks like a simple ache or pain… isn’t.
Is that shoulder pain inflammatory arthritis?
Is that back pain spinal cord compression?
Is that neck pain with those clumsy hands cervical myelopathy?
Is that pain a fracture, an infection, a vascular issue or neurological condition that needs urgent investigation, not another set of squats?
That’s the difference.
Resistance training is one of the most powerful treatments I use with almost everyone I see with many painful issues because it works for many things for many reasons!
But it’s utterly useles against these things.
Before I prescribe a squat, deadlift, or shoulder press, my first responsibility is making sure it’s safe to do so.
That’s why physios spend years learning anatomy, pathology, differential diagnosis, clinical reasoning, red flag recognition and risk assessment, not just exercise prescription.
If everything checks out? Then we’ll absolutely prescribe exercise. Because that’s often exactly what’s needed.
But if it doesn’t…
The last thing that person needs is someone confidently counting reps while completely missing the diagnosis.
That’s not being a glorified personal trainer.
That’s being a healthcare professional who also understands the immense value of strength training.
There’s a difference.
And for some people, it’s a fucking important one.
