This is gross, not because it's capitalistic, money-flaunting, and hierarchical, but because it's impersonal.
In society, everything is money. At least in love, we trick ourselves into thinking that it's different. That it may count for something other than a credit card.

Guys my boyfriend put his credit card in a magic wand and took me on a shopping spree for my birthday 😭

How Saturn exalts in Libra

Timothée Chalamet’s opinion on ballet and opera represents a wider cultural disregard of craft, expertise, and artistic pursuit. Everything is now about attention; eyeballs and money. People don’t care so long as it occupies them. To them, it’s only art if it’s seen.
English

@KaboniCara The context of my tweet wasn’t so much about Chalamet (with whom I’m not interested) as much as the larger issue amidst the attention economy.
To me, Timothée’s words are a reflection of a wider cultural trend. One that competitively disrespects creativity if isn’t ‘trending’.
English

@AnthonAstro People have so decontextualised his words that the true essence of what he said has been missed. He wasn’t taking about the artistic discipline, craft, dedication etc. He was raised amongst ballerinas so he knows how hard people work in those industries.

@evnq185286 rounded tip I can get with, but not as ‘prominent’ for sure as a lot of them
