Also foreign doctors are more likely to be sanctioned for sexual assaults & rape. Thanks to @grok again. 2016–2019 Data (Proven Cases): In a Freedom of Information request to the GMC, 38 cases of proven sexual misconduct (including allegations of rape, sexual assault, and indecent behavior) were identified over three years. Of these, 23 (60%) involved foreign-trained doctors, despite IMGs comprising only about 35% of the workforce at the time. 2024–2025 Sanctions Data (All Misconduct, Including Sexual): In a review of 189 GMC sanctions issued between October 2024 and September 2025 (warnings, conditions, suspensions, or erasures), 107 (56%) involved foreign-trained doctors—again, disproportionate to their ~35% workforce share. In 2010–2015, 72% of erasures (299 out of 414) involved foreign-trained doctors, with sexual misconduct cited in several high-profile cases (e.g., Malaysian-trained doctor secretly filming patients; struck off).
