Yet, four years on, when it’s time to make similarly brave calls, he simply refuses to do so, and I cannot bring myself to understand it. Ok, fine, you don’t want to start with the likes of Paz and Simeone. It is what it is. But for them to get ZERO minutes off the bench, when this side is in dire need of dynamism everytime Messi isn’t on the ball? It’s inexcusable. No width, no legs, no pace. It’s Messi or nothing 95% of the time.

I mean I just don’t think someone should be sent off for simulation in a World Cup quarterfinal when it’s a first simulation offense I’m aware it was a horrible flop and some people will disagree, but even the referee consultant on the broadcast said it was harsh

THIS! This is the point... if I am on a yellow card and its against the spirit of the game to give me a second yellow for diving if they go to VAR, I'm going to dive more... You cannot just ignore the rule because we "feel bad for embolo" or "its Argentina its rigged." Its a RULE
