I had a very weird dream last night. This is going to be a long read, so please pardon me. I woke up and found the police in my house. I was confused and kept asking them how they got in, but they didn’t answer. They just kept ransacking my things. There were two of them, one was young and the other was older. I saw the older one holding my wristwatch and I snatched it from him. They kept going from room to room, and they left after they were done searching and didn’t find anything. I went through my things and checked for my valuables, but nothing seemed to be missing. Then I remembered that I cooked a pot of jollof rice and chicken before going to bed, so I opened the pot and saw that someone had scooped from the middle. As I stood there in shock, my security man walked in with a takeaway plate and told me that he found it hidden behind one of the flowers in my compound. As I opened the takeaway, I saw that it was filled with the same rice and chicken I had cooked before going to bed. I asked him angrily why he didn’t notify me when the police came around, and he told me that he called me repeatedly, but I didn’t answer. As I was going through the CCTV footage to see what happened and how they got into my house, I heard a knock on my gate. I went there with my security man only to see the older policeman again, but this time he wasn’t in uniform. He was in mufti. He said he forgot something and wanted to pick it up. I showed him the takeaway pack and asked if that was what he was looking for, and he started stuttering. Another young policeman, not the same one from before, walked in, also in mufti, but he was carrying a gun. I asked why he was in my house and told him to please step outside because he had no warrant or right to be in my house. I turned and told my security man to go and get my phone and start recording. The younger guy asked me why I was telling him to leave my house, and what if there was something illegal going on in my house? Oga, something illegal how??? In a house that you people just searched???? As the conversation was getting heated and we were intensely going back and forth, I woke up. I checked the time and it was 4:08am. I don’t understand this dream, but I classify it as a nightmare because the police were in it.🫩

There’s this guy that likes my cousin. Bro has been chasing her for over a year now, and I’m not even exaggerating when I say the guy is serious serious. He sends her lunch at work every day. He even paid her rent earlier this year. At some point, we all started begging her to just give him a chance because from everything we can see, the guy genuinely likes her. But my cousin refused. Her reason was that she’s a bit taller than him and, according to her, he doesn’t know how to dress well. Yesterday was her birthday, and she was lowkey expecting him to shut down Lagos for her. Something happened today that really touched me deeply. There is this girl in the secondary school section where I teach. She is very calm, respectful, intelligent, and never gives trouble. We all know she is being raised by her single father, who is very hardworking. Recently, we noticed she stopped bringing food to school. During break, she would just sit quietly and drink water from her bottle. Our proprietress noticed it more than once and decided to call her father to school. Today, he came. You could immediately tell this man had been working tirelessly. He was calm, respectful, and well-spoken, just like his daughter. When he was asked why the girl no longer brought food to school and why her uniform was getting worn out, the man almost broke down. He explained that he was struggling to complete her school fees and settle their rent. According to him, there was barely enough money left to prepare lunch for her daily. He begged the school to please be patient with him. The girl herself had been enduring quietly. Every morning, she came to school with dried potatoes and water just to sustain herself till she got home. Unknown to him, our proprietor was inside the office listening to the conversation. When he came out, he said he felt led by God to sponsor the girl’s education till graduation. Not only that, he immediately gave ₦250,000 for her feeding and instructed the school tailor to make her new uniforms. Honestly, we the teachers were speechless. The father cried. Our proprietor cried too. That moment reminded me that there are still genuinely good people in this world. The man later shared that his wife left him years and never returned. Since then, he has been raising the girl alone with the help of his mum who is already old. I came back from work today feeling grateful to God There are still good people, imagine doing this in this economy. This Tinubu's regime 💔
