Unfortunately, there was no justice for John Meredith III. The corrupt process resulted in an inequitable outcome. And now we know that the University Interscholastic League was not a neutral referee in the matter. The UIL Assistant Athletic Director literally told his former coach what to write to override residency exceptions, monitored the form's status, and discussed pathways to push Meredith to return to his old school with eligibility intact. And we still almost won our appeal. John will thrive at Texas, but he shouldn't have been forced into a situation to reclassify into the 2026 cycle. This situation should be investigated. @KenPaxtonTX

@AnthonyFWTEX @marcusmyers It isn't solely up to Coach L. The district committee from the receiving school has to approve it. That committee is not made up of coaches but of school administrators. The signature of coach states that they approve and do not have knowledge of any transfer issues.

I watched that entire John Meredith hearing and the UIL is the absolute worst. 3-2 vote against the appeal. They basically admitted not a shred of evidence was ever presented that he moved for athletic purposes, acknowledged his mom is a peace officer and as such can choose where her son goes to school, acknowledged she got married in November, waited until the semester ended and they now live in his step dad’s home in the North Crowley area. The Euless Trinity coach sole argument was that they have to pass other schools between Euless Trinity and North Crowley. Not a single thing about anything else, so much so that committee questioned him multiple times and admitted they were confused why he checked Yes on athletic move based on what he was saying today.
