People are going wild over AI art. Me? I've created over 30,000+ images, even. I just finished a FREE guide on the 4 Core Principles of Visual Promptcraft. So you can benefit from all my experimentation. Want me to DM it to you? • Like this • Comment “Guide” 24 hrs only.

About the Saving via DM feature. It functions in a slightly different way. To save a tweet, just send it. To save a thread, just send the last tweet of that thread. It is a premium feature. No hashtags are required in this method.

A 4000x4000 render_snapshot(), no longer bounded by puny technical considerations like "the current screen resolution" or "having opengl installed"😉 and all it took was writing an entire software renderer from scratch in R, such an easy fix #rstats #rayshader #rayvertex

10,000 x 10,000 pixel render took a few minutes, but the 70% of that time wasn't spent rendering—it was some slow R postprocessing and file output! Should be easy enough to write that all in C++ for efficiency.

When your CPU software rasterizer's speed is limited by file IO, you probably don't need to optimize it anymore! At least that's what I'm telling myself. #rstats

I foolishly hit Enter on `render_highquality` and now the entire machine has slowed to a crawl trying to deal with a 10000 by 14000 matrix.

A synthetic colour (left) and colorized topographic mosaic (right) of Venus. @NASA's Magellan probe was the 1st interplanetary mission launched from the Space Shuttle, 1st to use aerobraking, and 1st to use the Inertial Upper Stage booster. #rayrender adventures, an #rstats tale

I did it! :D Works like a charm (of course!). I knew this had to be possible. :) This is Earth (with bathymetry) with clouds. #rayrender adventures, an #rstats tale

@researchremora try setting this image to alpha_texture (in addition to image_texture), slightly increasing the radius, and plotting it over the world map for instant clouds on your planet!

@tylermorganwall Thanks! And you're right! I usually do but it looks like I forgot in this case. I also remove ambient_shade and lamb_shade as well—should I keep those?

Did you want the whole continent of Africa? Okay, here it is—A 19th century continental map of Africa, also from Stanford Geospatial Center. I am never going to finish grading—28 essays down, 52 to go. #rayshader adventures, an #rstats tale

Happy Halloween from the rayverse! May your day be filled with scary maps and spooky spider pigs, and may your cyber-gourds be realistically smashed into virtual pumpkin pie filling for dessert. Who's excited for a full fluid simulator in R?😀 Rendered in #rstats w/ #rayrender

‼️Hold onto your swim trunks, because data viz in #rstats is going to get a lot more WET and WILD 🌊🤯 Prepare yourself for a full 3D fluid simulator with #rayrender integration for high quality rendering, entirely in R. Package coming... soon 😉

Finally, doesn't this look like a pencil drawing?? Clearly, I'm new to lidar and am still a little too excited. :P

Trying something different, courtesy of @hughagraham's amazing {EAlidaR} package. This is the city of London. Correct me if I'm wrong, Hugh, but I'd need shapefiles for the `poly_area` argument to get other areas, yes? #rayshader and {EAlidaR} joint adventures, an #rstats tale

It takes about three to four times longer—eight minutes vs. two minutes per frame—to `render_highquality` the same #rayshader object in Windows than in Linux. The choice is clear.
