Madison Beer tells @AnthonyMasonCBS that while the music industry has disappointed her at times, music itself has never let her down.
She says creating music has always been a safe, comforting escape — especially during her teenage years. See more of their interview tomorrow.
In the music world, Madison Beer is a paradox — four of her singles have gone gold or platinum, but she has yet to score a Top 40 hit.
Still, the 26-year-old artist says touring and performing for her fans is one of the most healing and fulfilling parts of her career.
She told @anthonymasoncbs about her unconventional and sometimes heartbreaking journey to stardom, seeking peace and her new album, “locket.”
When she was 15 years old, Madison Beer’s world turned upside down when an intimate video she’d shared with her boyfriend leaked online. She lost her manager, label and lawyer within 48 hours of each other.
But Beer said she wouldn’t change a thing about her life, including that tumultuous time, because persevering has made her who she is today: “It took me a long time to get over the whole thing, but I wanted to keep going. I did.”

The surviving members of @GratefulDead reflect on becoming @kencen honorees: “This honor to me is not just to the band members. It's also to the audience, our Deadheads.”
They tell @AnthonyMasonCBS how they found success by defying every rule of the music industry, tomorrow.
In its 30 years as a band, @gratefuldead scored exactly one Top 40 hit and not a single Grammy nomination. But now, it’s recognized as one of the most influential bands in American history and is a @kencen honoree.
