Sources: Oregon quarterback Austin Novosad intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Novosad is a redshirt sophomore and will have two years remaining at his next stop. He’s played in seven games at Oregon, where he entered as an ESPN300 recruit.

Barstool SEC carrier pigeon has blessed me with the knowledge that Arch Manning was pulled over by Austin PD today. He tried to hand the officer his license but it was intercepted.

The Arcane Texas Fact of the Day: Robert Redford's great great grandfather, Zacharia Bugg, was the first sheriff of Hays County. Zachariah Pennington Bugg (February 22, 1832 – April 20, 1887) served as Hays County Sheriff on two separate occasions. His first term was June 1858 to July 1860. His second term was November 1872 to September 1874. Zacharia Bug was born in Giles County, Tennessee. Sheriff Bugg moved to Texas and served in the Texas Mounted Volunteers from 1854 to 1861. He married Emma J. Davis (daughter of H.W. and L.B. Davis) who was part of the Pitts family. Sheriff Bugg served as a Second Lieutenant in Company H, 23rd Regiment of the Texas Cavalry and in Texas' McCulloch's 1st Cavalry, Company D in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He died on April 20, 1887 and was interred in the Pitts Cemetery in San Marcos, Hays County, Texas. Photo courtesy Find A Grave.
