And so, when a demon-possessed man and famously ill-behaved local that the townies all know as an infamous "trouble-maker," rings the bell of the local parish church at 11PM, you pray with him. And when those demons rise to the surface, take on a different voice, and different names, and blaspheme God, you do what Christians have done for two thousand years and cast the demons out by the name of Jesus Christ. It wasn't the first. It's happened a half-dozen or more times. Almost every single evangelical and Protestant pastor I know has done the same, at least once. They just don't talk about it because they don't have the spine of a jellyfish and don't want to be mocked by unbelieving Pharisees. It's way, way more common than you might think.
