@it_unprofession Same thing happened to me with LA fitness years ago. Paid an entire extra year because cancelling required mailing a certified letter. I decided to file a complaint to the BBB instead. 24 hours later my membership was cancelled and was refunded every penny i have ever paid them.

Canceling a gym membership shouldn't require a hostage negotiation. I joined a local fitness club three years ago and stopped going almost immediately. Yesterday I finally decided to stop paying the monthly fee. I logged into their app. There is no cancel button anywhere in the UI. I checked the website and it told me to call support. Support told me I had to submit a cancellation request in person. I drove to the gym on my lunch break. The manager looked at me like I was abandoning a puppy. He asked why I was leaving. I told him my personal ROI on this membership is completely negative. He offered to freeze my account for a small maintenance fee. I told him I just want to sever ties entirely. He sighed and said I need to provide a handwritten letter of intent and thirty days notice. I am currently drafting a formal breakup letter to an elliptical machine. I might just cancel my credit card. It seems easier.

@greggertruck Returns are less than you expect since the customer has to pay restocking + shipping fee to ship it back to the manufactuer for buyer's remorse.

@ScottFriedman3 @StubHub @coachella I sold tickets once on Stubhub & it was a nightmare. They do zero investigating the seller to make sure they even have tickets in the first place. Luckily I didnt have an issue but it was extremely sketchy & if the buyer wanted to make a claim there is no way they had my back.

A @StubHub story a @coachella buyer just relayed to me. This buyer bought a pair of GA passes last week for $1108.00 each with fees. A $2200 order. He called Stubhub yesterday and spoke to a customer service rep that assured him if his tickets didn’t ship replacement tickets would be available. This morning he woke up to an email that brought up pic 1 to select new tickets because his seller couldn’t fill the order. He clicked on the link only to get pic 2 which shows no replacement tickets are available. Picture 3 shows there is tons of inventory on Stubhub currently. He called Stubhub and the rep got into an argument with him that Stubhub has no tickets for sale and that he would get a refund. The buyer doesn’t want a refund. He has a $900 round trip flight booked. A $1000 a night hotel booked and had been looking forward to this trip. On the Stubhub side, they will fine the seller that busted the order if they can find the seller. They would not eat 4k which is what it could have costed the company to take care of this order. This is everyday business at multiple exchanges with tens of orders for Coachella. 🤦‍♂️

@iamtobi Upgraded to a newer model or i’d be on the bandwagon. I paid $2,500 for FSD in 2019 so I’m not too sour. Best of luck though, @Tesla needs to be vocal about how they will make this right before a class action is formed.

He then accepted the quoted price and said “I will charge more for Tesla chargers going forward.” He didn’t even install the charger, just ran the electricity…

Remodeling a rental house and in the last week wife has had two different subcontractors give her a high bid. She mentioned we do this a lot and the price is too high.
