The persecution of our wildlife is sickening at anytime of the year but at a time that is meant to emphasise kindness and compassion, it really drives home just how cruel and sadistic these hunts truly are. Christmas is an extremely busy period for sab groups who endure harsh weather conditions, aggression from hunts and their supporters and cover extensive areas to protect our wildlife and evidence illegal hunting. if you have actually seen a video of a fox hunt, to the very, unbelievably bloody/savage ending, you will be stricken with a kind of existential horror; not just that the lone fox is "hounded" until it is exhausted, & not just that it is torn to pieces, but the involvement of the human beings in the savagery is repulsive. seeing fox hunt videos in the UK, it wasn't such a stretch to interpret the "hounding" of the helpless animal as an emblem of British imperialism. so too the Irish were hunted down, slaughtered by British soldiers. so too-- well, fill in the blank.

Shame on all Irish politicians who voted to keep this cruel barbarism

Blister packs are not a luxury - they are a lifeline. Government must guarantee people will not be charged for them and can continue accessing the vital supports they rely on.

Fox hunting is barbaric, bloodthirsty, destructive to property, foxes and even the dogs are treated badly. It's long past time it was abolished.
