Closing our event, @RamonaStrugariu acknowledges significant problems in several member states - this made negotiating the Directive with the Council quite challenging.

Parliamentarians must speak to practitioners, says @Zemploid - lawyers in Malta are not convinced the Anti-SLAPP Directive will make a significant difference. This project has been important in doing the work on the ground. There is a real communication issue to tackle.

In Malta, says @CarlaCamilleri awareness about SLAPPs is relatively high, but opportunities for discussion were extremely valuable. Our sessions brought a number of perspectives to the table - initiators of SLAPPs are getting more sophisticated so we must be too.

Anuška Podvršič of @Zavod_Open - in Slovenia we held a mix of workshops and public panel discussions, with representatives from the courts, government and academia as well as lawyers.

Ivan Godarsky of @memo98slovakia - we organised a number of workshops and not just in Bratislava. SLAPP is now part of public discourse, at least among professionals. Reaching judges is the next natural step, "the sooner we do it the better."

In Poland, @annawojcik of @oko_press says workshops were highly practical - participants were interested in developing a checklist of SLAPP characteristics that could be argued in front of judges.
