You have no idea. That’s why I always take these “men are stingy” stories with a grain of salt. These people think what you’ve worked for is theirs because their buttocks is big.

@bbach234579 @the_neuborn You hit the nail on the head and they need to change that.

@Ockamz_Razor @the_neuborn You just attend an interview and are selected. If you are not selected, you can still join. Even if you were not called for the interview and your parents have the money, you can still join. KNUST Medical School for you.

Honestly, let’s be logical here.
1. Most doctors were top of their classes in their individual high schools.
2. Most doctors had to get 8As or 7As in WASSCE at worst to make it to medical school.
3. All doctors had to pass multiple grueling examinations in their time as students.
Medical education in Ghana filters in the best and the brightest by default. So to say “low quality by design” is such a gross misrepresentation.

You can put Ghanaian doctors in the most advanced hospitals on the planet, and they will still struggle. They are just of low quality by design. UGMC is a great piece of medical infrastructure, but we may have to import doctors if we hope to utilize the facility fully.

Some too are foreign trained, they come and write license exams just as Ghanaians who go to other countries to practice medicine. Poor practice goes beyond grades and admission criteria. Hospital leadership is key to effective work and customer satisfaction.

@the_neuborn All three points are flawed and I’m talking from experience. 1. I know most Medical doctors who were never top of their class in high school. 2. The same people didn’t get the 7As and 8As we claim to be the minimum requirement. 3. a) Let’s start with the entrance exams
English

@bbach234579 @the_neuborn I believe this should be the way and all institutions should be strict with their selective processes.
English

@Ockamz_Razor @the_neuborn That is why I hold Doctors who attended University of Ghana for their medical school in high regards. They select the best, put them through an entrance exam and an interview and then choose a select few.
