Finally finished the new progression system for HEXSTORM: Tears of Arcadia. Built a separate editor for it and connected it to my balancing autobot. The bot plays the game, checks win rates, and automatically tweaks upgrade costs to target ~50% mission success.

Solo dev means no beta testers. So I built automated bots instead. They run my levels thousands of hours a day and generate graphs to track difficulty spikes. #gamedev #indiedev #solodev #TowerDefense

32 rotation positions for one turret. In HEXSTORM, enemies can approach from any angle — so 8 directions weren’t enough. Even 16 felt cheap. We ended up with 32 directional sprites to keep aiming smooth and readable. #indiedev #TowerDefense #SteamNextFest
