Amazing week with @soilfoodwebscho and Nick Padwick #wildsoils on HOW TO grow microbes in compost to reinstate the connection between green plants and soils so the liquid carbon starts flowing again. Building soil instead of breaking it down. Fantastic mentors and great group!

We created this series to promote a wider understanding of what it's like to be autistic to a neurotypical audience , it's quite an emotional watch . It airs on the 14th Feb at 9pm on @BBCTwo and @BBCiPlayer . @Autism @OpenUniversity

It has come to light in the Netherlands that Alpro and Oatly are selling their byproducts for animal feed otherwise their cost of production becomes prohibitive. It goes without saying that they are trying everything they can to hide this ‘dirty’ fact. Hypocrite comes to mind.

@GeorgeMonbiot Given that farming large numbers of animals in close proximity is also the ideal way to encourage novel pathogens to appear and be transmitted to humans, this also raises the risk of a pandemic caused by an infectious and antibiotic resistant bacterium. A real catastrophic risk.

Livestock manure isn't *just* destroying aquatic life. It presents a grave threat to the drugs underpinning modern medicine: antibiotics. This reminds us that, terrible as the water companies are, the greatest cause of water pollution in the UK is farming: thebureauinvestigates.com/stories/2022-1…

@GeorgeMonbiot What is the carbon footprint of this ‘steak’? I’d rather see cattle in a field eating grass, producing muck for beetles and worms than big factories producing ‘meat’ in plastic containers. The cow is part of nature, the factory isn’t.

Last night I ate my first 3-D constructed steak, made entirely from plants, at the great Chouchou restaurant in Stockholm. It's astonishing. The texture's exactly right and the taste is excellent. This is *before* we have precision fermented proteins, encapsulated fats and heme.

No eggs because if Avian Flu??? What about the price of energy to heat & light the chicken house and the price of feed for the hens ??? How come eggs haven’t increased in price like everything else??? Come on supermarkets and BBC don’t blame a virus for no eggs on the shelves!!!

@domdyer70 @ChrisGPackham @MailOnline But we MUST NOT FORGET that there are very good reasons why Bovine TB is a notifiable disease. It would KILL people (especially the very young, very old and immune compromised) if there was NO legislation !!!

@domdyer70 @ChrisGPackham @MailOnline Welcome to the farming frustrations in the UK as this is the verdict of many cows. This is the TB conundrum: do they have TB or not if no visible lesions are found? Science is in favour of saying they have. Pathology is very slow to develop in some animals. We need better tests!
