By September 2016, Akshayakalpa was done. Investors had walked away. Well-wishers had stopped calling. I had nothing left to offer, and nothing left in me to keep asking. Two people made a different choice. Shilpa put in Rs. 30 lakhs. Not spare money. Not surplus. It was the last of our savings, money we could not afford to lose, put into something the world had written off. Her own decision. Her own faith. No guarantees asked for, none given. My uncle, Dr. Muni Reddy, put in Rs. 10 lakhs. He had watched this struggle up close for years. And still, he believed. Still, he put his money in. That Rs. 40 lakhs kept Akshayakalpa from shutting down. I never asked either of them why they did it. There was no logic to it. They simply chose to believe when no one else would. If that money had been lost, it would have been more than a business failure. It would have been a personal catastrophe. Some things in life cannot be explained. They can only be honoured. This MRI study on young kids just exposed something terrifying: They scanned the brains of 60 children aged 3–5 — including 5-year-old Rose — and found interactive screen time is causing measurable loss of white matter in their developing brains. Even just 2 hours a day is linked to impaired neural connectivity, language, and literacy development. Professor Mike Nagel (neuroscientist and father) said his first reaction was simply: “Wow… I was not anticipating seeing anything like that.” We’re physically changing children’s brains before they even start school — and the damage is visible on scans. This one actually unsettled me. I’ve always suspected too much screen time was bad, but seeing real white matter loss in toddlers hits different. Parents of little ones — has this kind of research changed how much screen time you allow?

Land prices are getting so high in #Bengaluru , people are not thinking about buying sites(30*40 or higher) few years back, every kannadiga used to invest in sites for appreciation... But nowadays, its impossible to think about purchasing a site to build his dream home!

This is how it works. We have seen this in our neighbourhood as well. Govt’s just don’t want the responsibility of doing the hard work, they want to cull them be done with it.
