We were pleased to join our friends at @CR_School, @BriyaPCS, @LAYCCAPCS, @AoHDC this morning for a @dcpolicycenter briefing on adult public charter schools. Such important work is underway to support the workforce, foundational supports, & academic goals of adult learners in DC

@AoHDC CEO Lecester Johnson on goals expressed by learners: “I want a better life for me & my family”. AoHDC assists with necessary steps to get there by offering workforce and GED/NEDP programs efficiently for learners to enter high-demand fields in DC

#DCAdultEd is vital to our city! @councilofdc needs to fund adult learners at 100% of the #UPSFF foundation rate as recommended in the 2013 Adequacy Study.

Last week, learners and staff at Academy of Hope testified at the Department of Transportation Performance Oversight Hearing to support the Adult Learner Subsidy Program. This program provides $70 per month for learners to commute to and from school. #AoHCares #DCAdvocacy
